A graphic showing "Pride Versioning" where the first number is the Proud Version. Then second is the Default Version. And the last number is the Shame Version.
Made very few changes to the latest build and was thinking maybe I'll be able to ship this one without incrementing the shame version (last number in a version number) and 2 minutes into testing, it's already getting bumped.
Finally! No more "dirty" #golang builds because you have untracked files laying around which don't affect the build at all :)
Kept seeing people run Hytale servers over Tailscale and thought "this could be even easier." So I built hyscale - private Hytale servers with extra magic.

IIRC PCIe devices have sleep states so I’m guessing they’re stopping it from getting into a sleep state?

last week i remembered that macOS lets you set your own icons and that *I* have the power to delegitimize the professionalism of the software that runs on my machine, so here's a thread of the 16 new icons i've made so far
i really forgot how fun it was to just sit down and make art for myself :')

Screenshot of the linked page, text below: Petition to the House of Commons Whereas: - Bill C-2, titled the “Strong Borders Act”, contains provisions that threaten fundamental rights and freedoms protected under Canadian and international law; - The Bill would grant law enforcement and national security agencies warrantless access to Canadians’ historical associations with organizations and businesses; - It would allow authorities to compel the disclosure of sensitive personal information, including geolocation data and contact details, based merely on suspicion of relevance to the investigation of offences under Acts of Parliament, regardless of individual involvement; - The Bill is designed to facilitate Canada's alignment with the United States' CLOUD Act and the United Nations Cybercrime Convention, raising serious concerns about foreign access to Canadians’ private data, including by regimes with poor human rights records; and - Bill C-2 undermines Canada’s obligations under international human rights instruments, particularly in relation to privacy rights and the fair treatment of migrants and refugees. We, the undersigned, citizens and residents of Canada, call upon the House of Commons to: 1. Immediately withdraw Bill C-2 in its entirety; 2. Reaffirm Canada’s commitment to privacy, civil liberties, and international human rights standards; 3. Reject any legislative or policy initiatives that would enable foreign states, including the United States, to gain undue access to Canadians’ personal information; and 4. Ensure that national security and border-related legislation upholds the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and is subject to meaningful judicial oversight.

Comic. Dimensional Lumber Tape Measure. [mockup of “2x4” piece of wood showing the dimensions as 1½“ by 3 ½“] Dimensional lumber sizes are tricky. A “2x4” is actually 1½“ by 3 ½“, and a “1x8” is ¾“ by 7⅛“. [two tape measures: one is labeled 12’, the other 12’*] If you know someone into carpentry or woodworking, get them our *dimensional lumber tape measure*. [A “normal tape measure” with even increments and a “dimensional lumber tape measure” with increments at different lengths for each inch] *Don’t tell them you got it*—just leave it in their toolbox. They’ll appreciate the surprise when all their measurements work out!

Happy to provide a review once I get it. The on-paper GPU specs are equivalent to a 4070 mobile, so I'm expecting solid 1080p performance, with 1440p -> 4k being ok. I mostly got it because it's got 128GB of unified memory so I have a platform for LLM research
Unrelated, but I should be getting my @frame.work Desktop tomorrow, so while I'm expecting the experience to be better on AMD, I'm not expecting 4k@240Hz w/ VRR + HDR on the APU vs a 4090. It should be nice for an apples to oranges comparison.
Same :/ If it works in Windows I feel like it _should_ work on Linux. I thought it might have something to do with signal integrity and tried shorter cables that have worked well in the past, but no dice. My gut says it's some kernel param I need to set to encourage the GPU to "play nice".
I've had loads of issues with HDMI + VRR and sometimes they get fixed by unplug/replug, but at this point my main monitor is connected via DP and any others are DP or HDMI without VRR
IIRC Bazzite has a fork of gamescope you might be able to just rpm install
580 is the last release to support 9xx/10xx GPUs. I’m hoping 585/590 has better support for DX12 on RTX cards
