#IDSky This is a wonderful short piece by @paulsaxmd.bsky.social. Thanks for writing it Paul (and thanks to your wife raising your focus on children's well being). The callous comments of RFK jr and the silence of DJT in the face of this child's death say a lot about their character and humanity

Why It’s Important to Talk about Race with Children Children start learning about race and racism as early as preschool. Talking about race early, however difficult, will help them become more antiracist

"White parents who see themselves as egalitarian must recognize that the stakes are now higher than ever. If you want to raise children who reject racism rather than passively absorbing it, right now, today, talk with your child about race and racism."

The Value of Joy By canceling Joy Reid’s cable news show, MSNBC has not only silenced a brilliant host: It’s silenced the next Black voice you haven’t yet heard.

Cancelling @joyannreid.bsky.social means the door she held open for the next generation of Black voices will slam shut. Without her, the next her, won't get platformed by white media. That, of course, is why white media pushed her out.

NIH cuts are getting the press, but VA research is getting slashed too. What do we lose when VA research goes away? Here's some greatest hits: The nicotine patch, invention of the cardiac pacemaker, first successful liver transplant, development of the CAT/CT scan

Flu is dangerous- especially for the very young, older adults, and those who are immune suppressed or compromised. This does not bode well.
