I agree but idk how they’d find the money. Tje new airport is already a big drain on national finances. If the Econ growth continues at the current pace I could see it happening in the mid 2030s tho

I am of the opinion that a connection to the sea via Tanzania would be really big. And that I think would allow it to be a worthwhile starting point for a Rwandan railway network. But it’s not a big enough country to start with a domestic network
The problem is that other African railways have mostly failed to actually move freight well. It’s not going to be the transformative tech that it was at the time because it’s directly competing with fuel and vehicle costs for trucking since labor is cheap rn
10+ billion of that is in Kigali but any rail project will have a budget measured in percent of gdp and it’s really hard to get behind that for now since motorization hasn’t quite taken off yet
I mean the national gdp is around $15billion there just isn’t enough money to go around for rail transit right now
Depends on how the Chinese feel. Idk if Rwanda needs rail based transit yet, and it’s damn expensive to start from scratch for such a small country. But I hope they can build a network when the line from Tanzania comes
Also the segregation of black areas was also by law. It’s associated with the earlier term because it’s the same idea with some local spin, which is how almost all loan words are adapted.
If you look at the chart the biggest spike in its English language usage was in the 60-70s during desegregation in the US. Likely why the modern use has eaten the earlier one
That feels like a really small number of seats for 7 centers.
Lowkey NL urbanism sucks as a pedestrian. All of this development built around biking and driving speeds not pedestrian speeds

What the hell is wrong with the Home Secretary
People for some reason when they learn that making the already cost advantageous form of transportation marginally more cost advantageous doesn't change people's decision calculous all that much

What about southern Germany?
It’s hard not to feel like the future is bright for Rwanda when these images are 19 years apart. It’s a world of difference.
I hope this energy crisis plus the strength of the Rwandan state can push them to lean in more on electricity as their main energy source instead of imported gas
Smh SBB simply doesn’t understand a precision scheduled railway

The EU is stepping up its support for a peaceful and inclusive Syria-led transition.
We are proposing the full resumption of the EU-Syria Cooperation Agreement.
It aims to address humanitarian needs and aid the country’s economic recovery.
