ICE’s heavy-handed immigration enforcement was tried once before – by Arizona’s notorious sheriff Joe Arpaio in the early 2000s The Trump administration’s immigration detention policies appear to be, in part, inspired by the heavy-handed tactics of the former Arizona sheriff.

ICE’s tactics aren’t new.

Years ago, sheriff Joe Arpaio turned Arizona into a testing ground for aggressive immigration enforcement including mass detentions, racial profiling and tent jails.

Much of it was later ruled unconstitutional.

We just peeped in the window and found "Heat" diner Kate Mantilini is still intact, booths waiting patiently for late night fans of "Those Potatoes" and everything else to come home again. Twelve years vacant due to a landlord who wouldn't negotiate--why does L.A. allow this?

Today I turn 89. I’ve seen this country at its best and its worst, and I know how much community matters. For my birthday, I’m asking you to stand with PFLAG and support the work that’s helped so many in the LGBTQ+ community, including me. give.pflag.org/page/95493/d...

Just a friendly reminder to contain the ableism while trashing those who are reckless, dangerous, violent and super icky.

Please name them as they are (rather than lame, idiotic, stupid, blind, moronic…).

Doorman and building staff may go on strike against building owners in NYC for the first time in 30 years+ next week, and I can say that among apartment building residents, there is a 50/50 divide between "Give them anything they want" and "Give them anything they want, you assholes."
