Played my first game of #bloodontheclocktower, this will only make sense to those who have played before

Final round, our slayer shot the imp. But the imp survived, because the slayer turned out to unknowingly be the drunk

Love it when game mechanics directly support story

I got some cold calls from translators who used the contact info on my steam pages. They link to a portfolio website with games they translated for, which helps

Other than that, there are freelance sites like Fiverr, but getting noticed there is hard

Also, having clear and easy to find rates helps

Trying to set up a minimal gameplay loop, including attacks by the enemy, a failstate, etc. Definitely in the 'just make it work for now' phase

#Godot has been good so far, though relearning how to code certain things I'm used to in gamemaker has been a bit slow

10th game, Laika: Aged through blood

A 2d motorcycle stunt game + hotline miami. I enjoy that recharging powers and reloading guns is done with front and backflips, encouraging risky air maneuvers

Also, still being able to break your neck if you angle the bike wrong at the end of a jump is good

Tactics games with pcs with different mechanics and skills like XCOM have a great many choices on what to do in what order, especially in late game when all is unlocked

But your repertoire expands gradually over many sessions, so it doesn't overwhelm, players learn to incorporate new options

Also, the medallion is pretty sick ๐Ÿ˜Ž

First of, the game looks neat, well done!

- the 'Roll' button is in front of the monster you are fighting, obscuring it. Maybe move it down?
- The description txt feels a little off. A bit generic and lacks flow, terminology is repeated but still unclear

I do like the monster at the bottom

Sure, you could ask an LLM for some placeholder game art, like a coward

Or just use badly cropped out photos of yourself, if you don't hate fun

9th game, Dome Keeper

Dig a mine, upgrade, fight monsters, repeat. There is just something wonderful about rising up with your haul, past all of the impromptu mineshafts you have created

Having made my own mining game last year, it was especially fun to compare and contrast elements

Recommended!

Been working on different behaviour for movement-blocking static objects. So you can kick a box and goblin through glass sheets, but not through a wall, which just makes stuff go splat

I'm trying to get better at sketching, partially for gamedev purposes, partially for being able to better visualize the wackiness in the campaign I'm DMing for

In this case, a gnome merchant that stores his magical merchandise in the gelatinous cube he rides

8th game, Fights in Tight Spaces

Mixed feelings. Stylish and fast deckbuilder, both attacks and movement are restricted to cards dealt, leading to interesting player decision making

But I really wish this wasn't a roguelike, though I can see why it is

Still a recommend, just for the cool factor

Working on some environmental elements, walls and glass. The idea is that you'll be able to destroy both with kicks, but kicked enemies and objects can go through glass, but not walls

Now I just need to figure out how to prevent particles from appearing 'over the edge'

- I used gamemaker, which has a native function to open a URL, so I made a button on the main page that linked to the steam page so people could easily wishlist. Godot has something like that as well (os shell open), but I haven't used that before

I've participated in steam next fest once:
- upload your demo at least a week before the next fest starts, mine had a gamebreaking bug that a player reported that I stressed to fix a day before
- participation is not a guarantee of many people seeing it, you have to actively promote it

Couldn't really make a kicking game without being able to kick things of the edge, could I?

It is just a visual trick, if no collision with the floor, it starts rotating and decreasing in size, gets destroyed when scale approaches 0

So far, I'm having a good time with #godot

I realize these are probably place-holder art assets, but I'm sort of enamoured with the different art style character portraits, like all the doodles in my sketchbook came to life and decided to kill eachother

This also looks like a fun game, keep up the good work!

Your throne, Unholy blood and The spark in your eyes. All webtoons with female protagonists, Unholy blood is in a modern day setting

Both spark in your eyes and unholy blood are finished stories. Unholy blood might be my recommendation if you only had to choose one

Tried my hand at creating a screenshake for when you successfully hit something

I might need to adjust the values a bit more

Added a floor and a camera following the player. Now I just need to make something that makes the enemies and boxes (and player) fall of the edge

Tried my hand at some basic Astar pathfinding for the goblins. The basic process has been pretty smooth in #godot, just need to figure out a bit better how collisions with obstacles work when calculating the path so they don't get stuck so much

I'm very glad you like it!

Many mechanics changed over the course of development of Broom and Boom, but I never doubted that witch cackling should be an integral part of the experience ;-)

There is a lot of negative space here, all your points of interest (POI) are adjacent to a path. If view is zoomed out like this, try increasing size of the POIs. If zoomed in, either restrict movement from the path, or put something of note there, otherwise wandering players will waste time

Clean art, everything is clear as to what it is, good contrast between trees you can walk around and the border which stops the player, and good color contrast between points of interest and (presumably) non-interactable environment

Made a little cartoon stunned animation for goblins that were kicked but haven't hit a wall yet

And made sure the player can go splat as well

It is only fair

7th game in 2026, Not a Hero

This one has been in my backlog for a while. A fast-paced ultraviolent sidescrolling shooter with an emphasis on sliding into cover, wrapped in an absurdist cartoon world

It does everything pretty good, but nothing really stood out. I enjoyed my time with it regardless
