Which is completely asinine because everyone knows no one is picking up your order if you don't tip in advance.

All I'm saying is we should be able to find people who aren't rapists or sex pests or don't have Nazi tattoos to represent us in Congress I do not think I'm asking for the world here
This is not peer review. And if anyone suggested that ChatGPT et al are my peers, I'd be very tempted to kick them in the teeth.
MORE evidence COVID vaccines hugely beneficial.
MORE lies & spin by RFK Jr et al.
CDC delays report showing benefits from Covid vaccine www.independent.co.uk/news/world/a...
"Covid vaccine cut their risk of urgent care and emergency visits by 50%, and Covid-related hospitalizations by 55%..."
Whole thread is spot on. No notes.
I am aware of the gravity and importance of the eleventeen different global crises of our own making.
I am also aware that today is Rex Manning Day. I'll probably still dwell. But, like, a little less.
Things that help calm the nervous system, quickly:
- Box breathing (in for 4, hold for 4, out for 4, hold for 4, repeat)
- Immerse your face in cold water (activates mammalian dive reflex)
- Humming (stimulates vagus nerve)
- Exercise (anything helps, outside even better)
- Impeachment and removal
Just because a President announces he’s agreed to a two week ceasefire moments before he threatened to commit war crimes, does not mean he is suddenly fit to serve. #25thAmendment
Typical April... got a full day of meetings and class, followed by a celebration of our outstanding graduates.
And then I get to head home to see whether or not we do a genocide. Busy day.
It's great to be a Michigan Wolverine!
Mental note to see if my sequin pants still fit...
Found the (hot pink sequin) elbow patches I bought for myself when I was awarded tenure in the craft bin.
Thinking it's about time I actually attach them to something...
The professional societies of which I am a part should consider hosting their annual convention in Costa Rica… so I can learn about the research happening in the field… and share my recent work… and for no other reasons, of course…
This is really the only April Fools content I will accept.
The world is bananas, the government has abandoned any commitment to logic, and AI fakes get more sophisticated every day.
But suggesting that dogs were somehow not good... haha... nice try. You can't fool me that easily
A middle aged bluesky user in a Costco cardigan (it me) beams with pride next to a young brunette woman with an EMU lapel pin on her jacket.
An array of 6 illustrations pinned to a display board. Each illustration features a stylized Hollywood archetype - romance, mystery, action, superhero, etc - where the central character is a queer man of color. The illustrations all say "more than side characters"
A costume design for DJ Ceberus features 3 rubber dog heads with red eyes and bared teeth paired with a black leather motorcycle jacket. Let's be clear: the whole look is cooler than you or I will ever be.
A student research poster explores the use of eDNA to monitor deep, cold water dish species. There are many charts and technical terms and, honestly, you'll have to ask the student presenter if it is actually possible to monitor deep cold water fish species using eDNA. But it's impressive either way.
The Undergraduate Research Symposium is always one of my favorite days on campus. The art & design student projects make for slightly better photos, but my student's work on food insecurity among older cancer survivors was riveting.
I love that libraries are welcoming and inclusive places for everyone.
But I also think this man next to me with the ranch dressing should be perma-banned.
Sending love to your family and wishing you a nice long run of even-keeled, medium pleasantness
🧵 Trump posted a video depicting the Obamas as apes. He deleted it. A handful of Republicans objected. Most said nothing. Nothing changed.
My most recent column isn’t about shock. It’s about consequences.
Watched the Top Model documentary this weekend. Thought it would speak for itself and that we could all just reflect on some garbage cultural norms from the early 2000s.
This morning IG served me 3 different reels of people dragging Tyra Banks' hot ice cream shop. Excellent post credits scene.
Screenshot of Bluesky timeline that looks like a conversation when it's not
I love it when my timeline works like this.
Too much alt text, but image is a post from @altcdc.altgov.info lamenting withdrawing from the WHO to save money only to spend 3x as much recreating it... immediately followed by a post from @effinbirds.com that says "what the fuck is wrong with people?"
“Is there a technology the left is excited about?”
High-speed rail! MRNA vaccines! New cancer treatments! Solar and wind energy collection! Better and longer-range EVs! That wood that's harder than steel! New apples! Fibermaxxing! Buldak Swicy ramen! Muppets! Muppets are too a technology, shut up!
Lol. I reported my mandatory assigned IT training as phishing because IT didn't follow their own advice.
For today's great holiday convergence, paczki count as dumplings, right?
Reading through appliance reviews on Reddit is infuriating. It's great that you've had your washing machine without an issue since 1986. But that company has been sold twice, shipped their manufacturing overseas and redesigned three times. Give me a rec from the era of planned obsolescence or stfu.
A little green man from a show I've never heard of that was maybe a little bit eaten by the dog
After 5 days of watching my niblings, the kids are alive, the dog is alive, the house is still standing.
We're calling it a success even if there were a few, uh, casualties
Yet another measles outbreak. There are outbreaks across the country.
If you were born after 1957 and do not have documentation of two measles vaccine doses, talk to your healthcare provider about a lab test to check for measles immunity.

It’s odd that the religious right is so upset about a halftime show that celebrated marriage, love, community, small business, hard work, and family. 🤔
This is terrifying.
I'm the target market for this ad. I'm a middle aged white lady in the suburbs with a very beloved, very spoiled, very fast dog and a modest amount of disposible income. It's me. I'm the target.
And this is absolutely fucking terrifying technology that will get people killed.
Bad Bunny's halftime show was a delight. Many great artists have been underwhelming on that stage, but the whole performance was really good.
Literally, my only criticism is that the costumer forgot to cut the vents on his suit jacket. Which should haunt them forever (the costumer, not Bad Bunny).
