Those who annotate books,
What have been your favorites? I’m new to annotating and am looking for some fantasy reads with beautiful prose and quotes worth underlining. Also if you have sample photos of your annotations so I can figure out what I’ll do. Thanks!

Program overview from CSLP Manual for Food & Family History Program. Photo shows a recipe box and recipe card.
Program overview from CSLP Manual for Multigenerational Photo Sessions. Photo is blurry and shows a persons hand holding an indecipherable photo.
Program overview from CSLP Manual for keepsake coasters. Photo has a sample of a coaster made with a photo of a mother and child. There is a coffee mug in the photo on wood desk.
List of contributors to the CSLP Manual. I am listed at the bottom.
I kinda got published in the library world today. CSLP put 3 of my programs into the 2026 summer reading program manual 🎉
These are me! And that little kid in the photo is me too 😂 #librarysky #librarylife
Just saw our neighbor take out the trash in a full hazmat suit. Just a normal Saturday.
Grief is weird.
A coworker passed unexpectedly this week. She was so young and kind. We just texted each other a few days ago. And now it’s just quiet at work.
Grief is weird.
I know you’re right. My options are limited for now. She’s good with trauma & anxiety but inexperienced/ not knowledgeable with neurodivergence. She’s more a counselor honestly.
Oh that’s interesting.
I kinda figured she’d respond the way she did. So no surprise there but still
We sure are :/
Ps I’m not convinced they are mutually exclusive
Asked my therapist if she thought I could be on the spectrum. She said, “Girl, you don’t have autism, you have trauma.”
…. Lol she’s not wrong.
(Asked because of sensory issues & managing social interactions)
A sunset over a state park’s parking lot. Whispy clouds in the distance. A few cars parked. Grass and entry to the park on the left.
Last night I attended a firefly walk & meditation circle. First time. It was amazing. Despite the summer heat, taking those moments to slow down and get grounded was much needed. I have a feeling I’m going to be practicing more often…
The only photo I took:
That probably would’ve been effective haha.
What is proper etiquette when driving by a No Kings protest when you’re in support but there’s counter protestors mixed in? Because I friendly beeped and they all cheered. And now my rumination won’t give up.
Small jars with plants and water in them, line a windowsill
A clear tote is filled with dirt and succulents
Wooden desk and desk mat are covered with plant cuttings spread across the entire surface
Meanwhile at the library…
Propagations (plant cuttings) have taken over my office. I got a mystery bundle of 50 on Etsy. Yes… 50. While purchased for myself, no one needs 50 new plants! I’m on a mission to fill the library with life 🪴

Thanks! It’s so much fun too!
We do have a seed library too. It was previously a card catalog. Repainted and labeled by type.
Cups with seedlings of herbs and vegetable plants fill a table.
Cups with seedlings of herbs and vegetable plants fill a table. One of them has written in the cup “hello my name is pickling cucumber.”
Gardening supplies on a table. Pots, seed starters, and potting soil
Cups with seedlings of succulent plants fill a table.
Meanwhile at the library…
I hosted a Plant Swap today. One of my favorite programs. Zero cost. Everything is crowd sourced. The plant community loves to share plants and they stick around to share knowledge too! Such a fun program.

Tell The Ohio House: No Cuts To Ohio Libraries! To Our Valued Patrons And Members Of The Community, We Need Your Help. On April 1st, the Ohio House of Representatives released its proposed state budget. In it, they recommend eliminating the Public Library Fund, a fund protected by law and responsible for the majority of Ohio’s public library funding. Ohio's public libraries have had a partnership with the state to deliver services at the local level for almost 100 years. This proposal wants to remove the protection of law and make library funding a lump-sum dollar amount in the State’s overall budget, making it much easier for legislators to cut funding for libraries in the future. This proposal is $100 million less than Governor DeWine's two-year proposal and has NO GUARANTEE OF FUNDING after 2027. Here in Ross County, 54% of CRCPL operations are supported by the Public Library Fund. The local tax levy passed by voters in our community makes up 38% of our budget, and the remaining 8% comes from grants, investment incomes, and generous donations. Elimination of the Public Library Fund will mean significant cuts to the services you value most. Less programming, fewer digital and print materials, and less access overall. Tell your representatives your library story! They need to hear WHY we matter to YOU, and they need to hear it NOW. The Ohio House of Representatives will vote next Wednesday, April 9. The time for action is now. Call, email, fax from the library, or use our form to contact your State Representatives and tell them: YOUR library story NO cuts for libraries RESTORE the Public Library Fund to 1.75% We love serving this community. Help us fight to keep funding for public libraries here and across Ohio, for the benefit of all!
On Monday, our library director will be gathering patrons’ stories advocating for libraries and take them in person to the Ohio House.
There’s only a few days left for Ohio…

Ohio House is drafting the budget and it is affecting public libraries. We need all hands on deck. If public libraries mean anything to you or to someone you know, please help advocate for this vital public service. Libraries are so much more than books.
Trump is threatening Federal Funding for Libraries; learn more and take action at saveimls.org.
DOGE has just completely gutted the IMLS, firing all staff, closing down their email addresses, and leaving any funding for 2025 in question.
Find in here links to what this federal money supports in (almost) each state, too.

My sociology professor just sent out an update advising us with the passing of SB 1 in Ohio, this will be the last semester with the current curriculum. I’m taking American Race & Ethnic Relations. Turns out, we have a shitty history that 🔴 doesn’t want taught. Go figure.
Why do I feel surprised?
Checked out two goodies from the library today 🥰
Super excited to try out Split Fiction!
