Course it doesn’t. 💀

Shocking! It’s the right way round! 😂
Selfie. I am standing at a suburban traffic intersection. It’s a big wide crossroads - sea of tarmac. There are traffic lights and… no pedestrian crossing whatsoever. I am making a disappointed face.
A map of the junction showing markers for accidents - 1 black for fatal, 2 red for serious, 5 yellow for slight.
This junction in Old Moat, Manchester is literally lethal. One death, two serious accidents and a clutch of slight ones (probably more unreported) between 2020 and 2024.
Making this safe for pedestrians and cycles is surely a high priority?
It is for me. Vote Green. Vote Sam for safe streets. 💚
It has been reported to the council ✅
A big stone gatepost, fallen across a suburban pavement. Mottled sunshine.

Exciting obstacle for the children to jump on this morning. Way too heavy to shift, and belongs to an HMO. 😭
A BIG thank you to @samsterby.com #OldMoat #Manchester for completing the @mcrfoe.bsky.social Questions for election candidates.

If you are a Councillor, please watch this.
It happened nearly 50 years ago in the Netherlands. The arguments against restricting traffic were the same as those made today and were proven to be wrong.
Many cities would greatly benefit from a circulation plan.

We need infrastructure. We need it now.
While I disagree with the funding model of certain large energy projects in the UK, I still want them built. We can seize the means of production later.
This is excellent
Please save us from seeing Phil's tits. I donated what I could, now some of you can have a go. It's for an excellent cause (not seeing Phil's tits).
How the fuck has Starmer turned out to be so shit as to give *Kemi Badenoch* a genuinely compelling argument against him. How. How.
Sent some cash. Grrrrr.
If you’re annoyed about Bluesky being unreliable today, be gently reminded that Mastodon is actually decentralised.
What if we go bankrupt before we do the work. What if you can stop that with £20. I cannot accept failure on this after fighting for TWO YEARS to get this land bought. www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/warleigh-n...
It seems an eternity since that train went out of the station, taking him away, into the darkness. I was happy then.
The Edge Hotel in Whitehaven, Cumbria
If anyone is in the Whitehaven area, could you pop over to the Jawas and ask if they have any secondhand droids for sale, thanks.
So I ride everywhere, have multiple bikes, and all that… but the BEST thing has been my kids learning to ride. They love it, and get pouty with me if we ever go anywhere by foot or car.
Here’s my youngest, who had just turned 3, the day she nailed pedalling.
A grotesque purple plastic toy. It’s mostly face, with green eyes, a big open mouth full of soil, and a pair of white trainers which join on where it neck should be.
I thought I had got rid of this Boglin but it’s cursed, so it just came back.
Did it need a lane for cars? Probably not.
Are there wires on that pre-vis? Yes (but not enough)
Bicester is a long way from me, but I’m glad to hear that they should be getting an underpass below the shiny railway - and one that’s for walking and cycling as a priority over motor vehicles.

A plastic dinosaur monorail thing at Peppa Pig World.
We went to the South this weekend, to visit family and do a mandatory trip to Peppa Pig World.
We went on a Voyager. It took forever. Oh how I wish we had better railways…
Ah, fun times, of course they do.
Maps are political acts.
My flat was 114 Norwich Row, just to the right of this shot on the top two levels 👍
