Should the interview have happened? Should he have been platformed? Yeah. There are many Today Explained listeners who know nothing about this shit. Especially non-Americans (if we count). Part of the public record is holding people like him to account. It wasn’t a puff piece.

Knowing nothing about this person, this was a good interview/podcast. I learned some (predictable) things about this person. Overall the host did a relatively good job holding him to account.

Also, they reference a “Tim Alberta” which just sounds like the Canadian version of Tim Apple.

It’s so weird to think of Justin Trudeau posting this tweet while wearing a backwards Allouettes cap and smashing beers with Katy Perry at Coachella

I wouldn't be surprised if Bell/Rogers etc would try to launch a Canadian social media. Would it be good? No. Would it be all that we can use? Yes.

Conservative MP Marilyn Gladu recites anti-pot poem in House of Commons | CBC News Conservative MP Marilyn Gladu delivered anti-pot poem in the House of Commons just before Question Period Friday.

I'd just like to remind everyone that Marilyn Gladu felt it wasn't enough to vote against the legalization of marijuana, she had to read a poem to that effect in the House.

Is pasta a sandwich or a soup. I’m talking normal Italian pasta, not Karen’s pasta salad at the BBQ.

‘Succulent Chinese meal’ speech added to Australia’s National Film and Sound Archive Jack Karlson’s rallying cry of ‘democracy manifest’ added to national collection of sound recordings that hold historical, cultural and aesthetic significance * Get our breaking news email, free app or daily news podcast Thirty-five years ago, when Jack Karlson was hauled into a police car outside a Chinese restaurant in Queensland, he couldn’t have known his bombastic speech would be watched by millions around the world, become a meme and now, be preserved for ever in Australia’s National Film and Sound Archive. Karlson’s declaration – “Gentlemen, this is democracy manifest! … What is the charge? Eating a meal? A succulent Chinese meal?” – is one of nine pieces of audio that have been added to the NFSA’s Sounds of Australia collection this year, along with a pedestrian crossing signal and Missy Higgins’ 2004 hit Scar. 24 Sussex: A modest proposal

What if we took a cut of MP salaries, say $10k a year (maybe more for Ministers/PM who earn more), for a few years to cover the cost of fixing it. At 10k for 338 MPs, that would be $3.38M/year. As of Apr 1, a backbencher will earn $218,600.

Holy sh*t. Wab Kinew's government just made using data to increase prices an unfair business practice. This is historic for Canada.

*Proposed bill bans suppliers from charging higher prices to certain consumers based on personalized or algorithmically determined information.
