We stand with the players | WNBPA

The @wnba.com has seen historic growth in recent years. NONE of that would have been possible without the skills and talent of WNBPA players.

It’s time for Commissioner Cathy Engelbert and NBA Commissioner Adam Silver to agree to a fair contract. Solidarity with the players!

I have a lot of thoughts about this article, so please bear with me as I put them all together.

The quote from Miles Mikolas is irresponsible. It completely lacks context. In short, he says the Union should not defend Profar. The Union has a duty of fair representation to represent bargaining 1/

Why the Dodgers Probably Won't Win the World Series | Opta Analyst Looking great in October is different than in March. We break down the reasons why the Los Angeles Dodgers may not repeat as champions.

Everyone thinks the star-studded Dodgers will win it all again. Done deal. Right?

But MLB hasn’t had a repeat champion since 2000. A lot can, and often, does go wrong. In fact, LA probably isn't going to win the 2025 World Series. @zcrizer.bsky.social explains:

Particularly sad. I played ball with group of kids from both sides of the border at Derby Line every summer in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s. Nobody at the ballppark cared where you woke up that morning.

This morning, we learned that President Trump fired Board Member Gwynne Wilcox, whose Senate-confirmed term runs until 2028.

This move must be called out for what it is—a frontal assault on the NLRB, its employees, workers, and the very idea of an independent civil service. 🚨

The intent is to prevent the Board from having a quorum. Without one it cannot make any decisions.

Without a Board or a General Counsel or GC designate unions and employees will have no redress for violations of the law.

We dealt with this during his previous 4 years with the FLRA, the federal 2/

Today at @baseballprospectus.com : With the Dodgers and the New York teams opening their wallets this offseason, seemingly pricing many teams out of the market for on-field talent, is it time for a salary cap in MLB? An examination by the numbers

We’re thrilled to share breaking news:

The AFL-CIO and @seiu.org are reuniting with a new, long-term effort to make it easier for workers to win a voice on our jobs with our unions.

There’s power in unity!

Over 9.2 million workers will get a raise on January 1 from 21 states raising their minimum wages Twenty-one states will increase their minimum wages on January 1, raising pay for more than 9.2 million workers by a total of $5.7 billion. In addition, 48 cities and counties will raise their minimum...

Even with these increases, there are still tens of millions of workers being paid exceptionally low wages. We need to secure living wages for all and end harmful carve-outs like the tipped minimum wage ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽

I'm going to ramble a bit and use @craigcalcaterra.bsky.social post as a jumping off point.

2025 Classic Baseball Era Committee Candidate: Dick Allen After missing by a single vote in his last two ballot appearances, the slugger may have his best shot at election, albeit posthumously.

Dick Allen fell one vote short of election in his last two ballot appearances.

An elite hitter who clashed with a world that was often far too slow to embrace him as either a player or a person.

We’re more than ready to celebrate both now, says @jayjaffe.bsky.social
