If you can wait, 100% just wait. I went in knowing what the reviews were saying and still wanted a theater experience. It is completely all over the place. Save your money or go see Project Hail Mary which is an amazing movie and deserves to be experienced in theaters.

Thoughts on The Super Mario Galaxy Movie:

The visuals are amazing, the animation team at Illumination deserve tons of credit. The soundtrack is of course the best part.

Besides that, the movie can not pick a lane. It is jumping around constantly and introducing way too much.

There was definitely something about this that felt off, Paul Rudd’s character was weirdly written. He is just ignoring clear red flags and mental alarms that should be going off especially with his daughter just yelling at him constantly.

Totally agreed, it had moments that just felt different. Like the phone call that changes from a tense mood to something sad and the passage of time along with it.
