cave... BAD...
the diofield chronicle... PROBABLY OKAY...
the ps4 store listing for the video game 'cave bad', featuring a man with a furrowed brow and a pickaxe spelunking into a cave full of monsters. cave bad indeed
i love coming across this game every time i look at sales in the playstation store because i am compelled to immediately say its name in a frankenstein voice

...and not for nothing, but the "the voting is so important though!" crowd hates having it turned on them and shows immediately why it's not as effective as people think. remember "bend the knee"? suddenly vote scolders were aghast that someone would assume they were entitled to their votes.
people imagine the approach that works on other vote scolders works for everyone, and it doesn't. hell not a single even Extremely Mainstream Normie Dem organizer or outreach worker would tell you this kind of approach is good - it isn't. does not move people forward. doesn't build trust, faith.
*devaluing* voting thus makes them *more* likely to vote because now it's no longer a moral or philosophical battleground, one where no matter what they do they get insulted. they become more "okay, might as well", *especially* when i pair it with discussion of other places we can have influence.
knowing that, *speaking* to the skepticism and frustration people rightly feel, by showing i know what they're feeling, why they're feeling it, all of that, opens them up and makes them *more* likely to listen to me, because i'm actually showing i know what's up. "voting matters so much!" doesn't.
and dems aren't and can't read *why* you did or did not vote for them anyway - they're just going to take the conclusion that reaffirms their priors, already do. whether you extremely begrudgingly vote for them or enthusiastically, they'll take it as proof they're doing things right.
i, for my part, with others like me, embraced a "yeah your vote doesn't matter... so you might as well, big whoop" kinda approach. dems take a 'heads i win, tails you lose' approach: win with the 'left gets nothing' approach, they go 'it works, keep doing it'. lose, they go 'fucking lefties cost us'
this shaming/"voting is the most important" dynamic with these certain groups does not move people *to* vote but instead incentivizes further bitterness, skepticism, and valuing one's vote to a degree that the vote shamers don't *actually* like. so, you need to take a different approach to it.
...it's not irrational to take the conclusion from all that "your vote is the most important thing in the world" that you only really have leverage from saying "no, fuck you" until people come to your table. if your vote matters above all, as scolders tell you, why *not* use it as a bargaining chip?
...creating an environment where people are, rightfully, skeptical that voting is going to do shit and they're going to get dumped on regardless. this pathway *also* creates that which vote scolders most despise: intentional withholders. getting told over and over your vote really DOES matter...
you'd be surprised. different appeals to different audiences - i've actually convinced multiple leftists to be willing to vote *because* they are going to get ignored regardless. as is, right now, they get scolded for not voting, but when they do vote they get ignored or even attacked anyway...
"understanding the problem but only when it affects you" case 2910841984
people who tell you that you gotta shut up, suck it up, fall in line, and keep your complaints to yourself find it extremely unfair and ineffective to winning over their vote to have it turned around on them, whodathunkit
since we're on round 8 billion of vote scolding discussion again, bsky.app/profile/spac...
a bear vacuuming a floor as a japanese salaryman looks on in terror
found out about the manga kuma gurashi which is like those ones where a manic pixie dream girl comes into a salaryman's life and starts doing all his domestic chores for him to heal his heart except in this one it's a realistically drawn bear and the salaryman is terrified on every single page
thinking of how they sent bill to michigan to tell people "so sad, too bad, get over it" to their faces. they aren't willing to settle for ignoring the left, they find it necessary to actively and publicly antagonize them too
the crowd in there would vote dem whether you told the left to eat shit or not and you can choose to inspire or tell the left to eat shit and boy they keep picking the latter
feels like a mix of performance and personal grudges (mixed in with the fact that he knows going specifically after the ladies from I Had It who dragged him over the same coals would not play nearly as well with these crowds)
can't get that stupid booker speech out of my head. all the various contexts to it. like the fact that he *did* recently vote against funding israel more but he *still* felt compelled to make this kind of speech, just miles away from dearborn - and did it with his whole chest, too
wait, even better
what's docking, good coking
what's dokken, good cockken
the whole fucking thing was just a mash of "vaguely heard the idea of someone telling ME what to do and got mad about it" and racism and sexism. like that was it
if angry starmer is like when he nearly cried over not getting comped game seats anymore i could believe it
oh thiis was seen more as using the johnny rocket's itself as the bathroom
