This means doing what is best for HUMANITY - not profits, not corporations, and definitely not the ultra-wealthy who dug this hole to begin with. They don't care about our future as long as it is a future where they are rich and we are powerless to change that.

Third, we prioritize longevity and our own future over cost-cutting and instant gratification.

Why do we build things designed to fail? Why do we manufacture things meant to be thrown away? Does it really have to be that way? Wouldn't we be better off with things built to last?

Second, we should change how we think about cities and transportation. New communities should be built for PEOPLE, not cars. Walkable, bikable, safe, quiet, and convenient. When we build efficient cities, efficiency becomes the easy default for their residents.

First, we need to stop making new IC (internal combustion) vehicles, the sooner the better. Existing vehicles should continue to be used and maintained as we work through building up renewable energy and phasing out fuel infrastructure.

This is the lowest combined economic and ecological impact.

Unfortunately, we aren't ready, and it isn't enough. Even taking all the cars off the road immediately and making everyone walk would NOT STOP the effects of climate change.

The best solution isn't to wastefully throw away, it's to change and reduce. Ideally we do that from several angles at once.

Even knowing there is some risk involved won't stop me from occasionally eating prepared foods. I can't just live my life in fear, I have to trust that the odds are actually in my favor here; more people don't get sick than do.

I've been decently impressed with gas station food in recent years. The ones near me have delicious sandwiches and hot dogs that they actually keep reasonably fresh. They even have a full array of sauces and fresh vegatable toppings (tomatoes, onions, jalepenos, sauerkraut, etc).

Costco gas prices are relatively stable, but even still... last week I paid $2.49, today I paid $2.94. That's the highest per-gallon price I've paid since I started tracking my fuel spending and usage in June of last year.

Yikes! I generally love Costco but have never worked with their optical department... that sounds terrible. You should be able to take your signed prescription anywhere and use it to order contacts, including online. They have no right to interfere with you having a copy of your own medical records.

Additionally, who thinks boarding early is such a great privilege? I can't believe they charge more for it. The last thing I want to do is spend extra time sitting on the thinnest cheapest seats crammed inside a smelly flying tube.

I'm not sure if it's intentional or just part of my sample, but I also noticed the text for the years is a smaller font on presidents who were in office less than four years. Here's Washington and Lincoln.

Also interesting to note, the president coins have the years they were in office stamped on them. Well, I just happened to get one coin of the shortest-term president, William Henry Harrison, who died in office after just one month. He only gets one year listed.
