The TCAF haul!!!! I was not prepared for the level of quality across the whole show to be so high. Damn near every single person in that place was incredible! It was so great meeting and chatting with everyone and trading books! Is this what community feels like?

Since I’m taking about inspirations…I’ve always loved the DIY aesthetic of superhero costumes and the two that probably influence me the most in this were Paul Pope and Rafael Grampa. Love me some tall lace boots!!!

Can you see how much I steal from Eyvind Earl? I even painted this in casein because I needed to be like him! Alas I am still Conner unfortunately. If you don’t know who he is do yourself a favor and do some research. 😬

This guy, am I right!? Hellboy really is the thing that made me want to pursue making comic books. I didn’t have much access to them as a kid but loved cartoons and video games. I didn’t really READ comics until college where I fell in love with the art form and world building.

Did you guys know I had art in Black Hammer? I was lucky enough to meet St. Jeff Lemire at a show in Denver years ago. He bought one of my pages and gave me the shot to have a pinup in an issue! 🤯

Since I posted a scratchboard why not another one? This one was 18x24 inches and I can confidently say I will never do one that big again. 🫠
