👏 In January, the #FillTheFund campaign 📢, along with 100+ civil society and Indigenous Peoples' organisations, submitted a roadmap for how to #FillTheFund 📈💰 to the Board of the FRLD.
🤯 This is barely 0.1% of the US$400 billion that developing countries and frontline communities need each year to recover from harm caused by the #ClimateEmergency! 🔥
🔎 Why does the RMS matter? To date, only US$822.06 million has been pledged to the Fund, contribution agreements are only in place for US$591.81 million, and only US$448.92 million has actually been paid in. 💸
4️⃣ ⚖️ The plan to #FillTheFund must be anchored in #HumanRights and all other legal obligations under international law 📜, the polluter pays principle 🏭🤑, common but differentiated responsibilities (CBDR) 🧮, and intergenerational equity 🚸.
3️⃣ 📢 Rich polluting countries (e.g. USA 🇺🇸, UK 🇬🇧, Germany 🇩🇪, France 🇫🇷 and Canada 🇨🇦), planet-wrecking corporations (e.g. Shell 🛢️, ExxonMobil ⛽, BP 🏭) and the mega-rich 🤑 must #PayUp4LossAndDamage! 🔥
2️⃣ 💰 All money flowing in and out of the FRLD must be grants 💸 not loans 🚫💳. ❤️🩹 #LossAndDamage survivors should not have to take on debt to pay for a #ClimateCrisis 🌡️ they did not cause. That would be #ClimateInjustice with interest. 🚫⚖️

🪙 US$50 billion/year in 2027–2030 (US$200 billion in total)
💸 US$100 billion/year in 2031–2034 (US$400 billion in total)
💰 US$400 billion/year from 2035 onwards (US$1.6 trillion every four years)
