This is one of the top features of the ATP, bulletproof authentication and free and open to everyone.

And if a YouTube or an Instagram-like ATP client appears, then they can use the same handle across every platform.

It's beautiful really ๐Ÿค”

Moderating a large number of ppl online is no easy task.

1: Clear guidelines. โœ…
2: Reporting system. โœ…
3: A team of dedicated mod, community mods, and AI to help enforce the rules. *Remains to be seen*

And you need to do all that respecting the 1st amendment.

Can't envy @jay.bsky.team Bsky team.

Actual Nazis and people who do threats of violence of course not, people who we disagree with however, are welcome here so that we can change their minds maybe bring them further to the left.

How can we split people in smaller groups algorithmically, and keeping the rest of the world discoverable if they wish..
This seems pretty hard to solve.

Effective community moderation should be applied to small groups like subreddits, which Reddit has done great.

Bluesky was the perfect size for moderation before the recent influx.

Smaller groups create social pressure, dissuading people from posting abhorrent content.

'invites traceable to other members' . This might be the way.

Community moderation will be effective if done on a small number of people, think subreddits.

Bluesky's nirvana was right before the big influx of people last week. That size of the pool was perfect imo.

People are disinsentivised to post abhorrent content when in smaller group.

Curious to see if that will lead to something like invisible subreddits in BSky..
Groups of people vibing in their communities and adjusting their algorithm along the way

To help keep Bluesky free and ad-free,

maybe BSky should implement paying pennies to read news articles instead of all these subscriptions (similar to Twitter's plan) using a credit balance or similar.

in addition to donations this may be sustainable.

it's actually a pretty good idea, Bluesky may have that too, @jay.bsky.team talked about it before using zcash.

This new social network is like a breath of fresh air. It's not just a platform for ads, audience capture, and political rants.
