I dunno what specifically caused this shift, but after his gameplay update and his Dark Star skin was released, it feels like the skin team has just been having a ton of fun with Shaco

Bro had like a 4 year skin hiatus and now gets yearly skins, prestiges and legendaries, and they're all sick af

lmao what

Y'know what, that's neat and funny worldbuilding. Explosives to mine petrified trees is based actually. Good job whoever figured that one

Even if the Bryni totally forswore their ancestor reverence, they'd almost certainly only do it because of the reverence for the old gods. Which'd then make them naturally work out as enemies of the Frostguard, which Aurora is positioned narratively for anyway

But the Freljord is a deeply spiritual land regardless. It has the most spirit champions of any region aside from Bandle City, which is IN the Spirit Realm. The people of the Freljord are some of the most spiritual in the world, even the trolls have spirituality in spades

Which is funny given that there were very easy ways to make this not be a problem - not a vastaya and this isn't an issue. Not a Freljordian and this isn't an issue. But they ended up choosing the elements that most conflicted with it. The only way it'd have felt weirder is if she was a yordle lol

Like I get wanting to have your cake and eat it to; get an autistic character AND get mileage out of allegorical autism in your story, ain't nothing wrong with that and it's been done well before

But Aurora feels like they wanted it so bad they ignored the worldbuilding to make it happen

It's the same kind of angle that Yorick had when Helia was still active; the truths his ability to hear the dead revealed were great for the Brotherhood of the Dusk...until they started raising questions

It'd feel less awkward if she wasn't 1. a vastaya and 2. a Freljordian, but she is so it does

- then I feel like an angle where she doesn't fit the expectations given to her works better

That her people would expect her to be a spiritual medium - a sage or shaman or such, but she is more inclined towards research and study, and reveals truths about spirits the Bryni don't care much for

Splash art for Aurora, a champion from League of Legends. She is a bespectled, ginger haired, rabbit-like woman with a poofy tail and rabbit ears. She wears a blouse and revealing coat, as well as thigh high boots that reveal freckles and speckled patterns across her legs and shoulders. She also wears a witches hat whose brim is filled with magical colour, and wields an ornate wand

With said wand she pulls back at the veil dividing realms, looking upon small, wispy spirits around her, as well as magical pattersn in her surroundings. The land around her is a forest covered in snow

I've been bothered by this since she came out, but Aurora being ostracized for her ability to percieve spirits has always been off to me

The vastaya are a people deeply connected to the Spirit Realm. Would the Bryni have not looked at her power as a gift? If you wanted to present conflict from it-

Oh hey some demon-themed stuff

So you're gonna make a new demon champion right Riot? It's been 11 years since the last one y'know

...No? Just gonna put out another boring human edgelord demon-hunter, such that there are now more mortals who dabble in demon magic than actual demons? Figures. Bleck

We have a new video out! Kinda fell into a rabbit hole about lost continents, and decided to make it into something. So here's 30 minutes about Gondwanaland. See here: youtu.be/QoBc_h2SuII

Runeterra has the perpetual problem that Riot will only write what they as individuals want to write, not what the story actually needs. This results in them just perpetually writing surface level shit that circles the drain

How depressing. No wonder the writing room is a revolving door

The Demacia stuff recently is just so exhaustingly Americanized it has my eyes rolling out of my head and on to the floor

All whining and performative activism. The "rioters break the gates of an ICE facility but nothing else" of fantasy

No wonder Demacia is boring, they write it like this shit

This was prompted because two males crossed my paths today at different times, and one of those times I was with a work colleague who didn't know the males and females are so sexually dimorphic, so I looked them up to show him, and found out this information

A pair of Common Pheasants (Phasianus Colchicus) standing in a grassy field.

On the left is a female, who is beige /brown in colour with black speckling across her feathers. On the right is a male, with reddish brown plumage across his body, an iridescent blue head with red wattle (flesh caruncles that grow from the head and necks of various species of birds).

Common Pheasants are also known as Ring-Necked Pheasants due to the white band on the males that seperates the plumage between their heads and bodies, and the Blue-Headed Pheasant, again due to the males distinctly blue heads.

Their native range was originally across Asia, with populations in China, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and other nations, reaching as far west as Azerbaijan and south western Russia. They have been introduced as game fowl to a huge number of european countries, the United States, Canada, Morroco, Turkey, New Zealand and in very small pockets of Australia.

I was today years old when I discovered that pheasants are not native to the UK

31 years and they always felt like a quintissentially british animal to me, we have paintings of them in bars lmao, what do you mean they got imported from south asia as game

I now care much more deeply about pheasants

Watching discourse on ZZZ about Promeia is so funny cuz it reminds you that this is just how communities are on social media

I am thankful for my non-rotted brain, it has enough problems than being bogged down by such nuisances

I feel like I know what Riot would write cuz Demacia is their proxy for venting about US politics (which is weird to me when Noxus is right there to use), so they're not gonna ever look favorably on the conservatively minded Tianna, but I like her. Compels me some. I'd like to see her grow

1 month ago 7 1 0 0

Both of them brought in by the royal line she's sworn to serve and protect

Xin Zhao proved Tianna wrong in life and in death. Would she be able to reflect on this, and weigh that against her own biases when she has to reckon with a literal dragon in her midst?

I feel like there's a lot that could be picked at in terms of developing Tianna over time in respect to Shyvana - that she did not trust an outsider in Xin Zhao, only for him to die for his and Demacia's principles, and not too long after this funeral, another outsider will enter Demacia
