Even if the Bryni totally forswore their ancestor reverence, they'd almost certainly only do it because of the reverence for the old gods. Which'd then make them naturally work out as enemies of the Frostguard, which Aurora is positioned narratively for anyway

But the Freljord is a deeply spiritual land regardless. It has the most spirit champions of any region aside from Bandle City, which is IN the Spirit Realm. The people of the Freljord are some of the most spiritual in the world, even the trolls have spirituality in spades

Which is funny given that there were very easy ways to make this not be a problem - not a vastaya and this isn't an issue. Not a Freljordian and this isn't an issue. But they ended up choosing the elements that most conflicted with it. The only way it'd have felt weirder is if she was a yordle lol
