Thanks a lot for all the follows, everyone! I'm having soo much fun reading and viewing all the Moon Child love. ππ
I'm also forwarding stuff to the other guys, including Ramon, our music composer.
Here are some pencil-on-paper concept sketches I made around the start of Moon Child development. π

Blue Mary from Fatal Fury city of the wolves
This Youtube channel I found makes a lot of videos in this vein, Michael Jackson-styled remixes of songs and whatnot. Would be cool if it's not A.I., but I'm... not convinced it isn't.

Like, only having a jump or dash button is fine when your gameplay is facilitated by a momentum-physics system or a fully-360 flight control scheme. Then you look at Balan and its sales pitch is seemingly "Would Banjo-Kazooie be more fun if all you could do is jump, if even that?"
Balan gets a lot of shit for its one-button control scheme in particular, but I don't think that necessarily couldn't have worked. Both Sonic and NiGHTS had similar one-button controls, after all. But then, they had unique physics systems backing them up while Balan has generic 3D platformer physics
A fitting introduction too, it turned out, as some of the composers on the Gran Turismo series actually got their start in Japanese Jazz Fusion bands (Masahiro Ando, the composer of the series theme song, was part of T-Square).
Cool thing, learning that was.
For all the things that the Gran Turismo games deserve credit for (which is a lot, make no mistake) they absolutely deserve their dues for introducing people like myself around the world to Jazz Fusion and how fucking good it is.

Of course, I'd suggest reading the manga, but the anime absolutely deserves appreciation too. The sheer quality and consistency of its animation across 70 episodes was the most amazing thing to me. Not much besides the 2003 Astro Boy series rivals it in that regard to me.
I'll tell ya what, Cardcaptor Sakura is a good-ass series.
I'd say it's the kinda series that should be a formative experience for animanga fans, lest they fail to appreciate how good shoujo series can be.
If I recall correctly, the reason the PS1 even focused on the capacity for 3D graphics amidst companies' hesitance at the time to commit to a then-early and unproven format was because Virtua Fighter 1 came out, Sony saw it and was like, "Oh right, so you CAN do cool shit with these 3D graphics"

And if they are ported, it's an odd port they have easy access to or kept in Like A Dragon purgatory.
Between one of the most important arcade games ever, and its 16-bit port put out because Sega felt obligated to put something on the Mega Drive in 1996, which would you think gets constant ports?
Man, Sega sucks so much for how little they re-release the Virtua Fighter games. And all their other series too, but that one in particular. Insane that this is a series as important to video game history as Mario 64 or Half-Life, yet only has a fraction of their availability.

I guess it really wasn't Exallent after all
I realize I haven't heard much from that new Asuka 120% Exallent game that was announced a while back. It actually just came out too. Wonder what it's like-
*It apparently sucks.
Hmm. Alrighty then.

So, Bluesky. Seems alright, but it's kinda inconvenient to find art on here compared to Twitter's setup. Which given that's half the reason I'd even be on here, that kinda sucks. But eh, whatcha gonna do?
