Until we have a national ban on gerrymandering there should be **zero** blue state Republicans in the House. None.

as it becomes clear that Yes has won in VA and gerrymandering will pass, a message to Republican voters:

you brought this on yourselves

you convinced the most fairness-obsessed, That Wouldn’t Be Fair-minded voters in the country to affirmatively vote to put you in the dumpster

you earned this

the zoomers will never know what it was like to refresh drudge fifteen times an hour on your parents' home computer during election season. only deeply anxious millennials can understand.

And in fact Republican states like Utah and Ohio have retained their gerrymanders in open defiance of successful referendums demanding non-partisan redistricting

A Fire To Stop The Fire There are ways to preserve American democracy. None of them are ideal.

It always comes back to the question of what Trump's opponents are willing to do to preserve whatever is left of representative democracy. I'm glad VA and CA were willing to do gerrymanders.

The way Virginia and California have gone about this is not even in the same realm as red states that chop up congressional districts for the sole purpose of diluting the vote of black and brown communities. Dems put expirations dates on their gerrymanders too.

I remember reading about this space age sleeping chambers coaches were sleeping in to maximize the 3-4 hours of sleep they could afford every night. Seemed weird when you could simply go to bed at a decent time.

The one thing we never grappled with was that you have to have been extremely online to know anything about Charlie Kirk. He was a niche social media presence.

If you were a lib on Twitter back in the day you might’ve thought McKesson would get 50 percent of the vote. No one knew who the guy was.

I think this is the thing to remember about Hasan Piker. No one knows who he is.

Marc Andreesen is from Wisconsin and went to Illinois. He could become a next level booster but instead he chooses to post.

Peter Thiel Has Wanted To End Politics For A Long Time If the tech fascists can't escape the annoyance of politics, they would like to end politics altogether

Men like Thiel crane their necks and look up at the night sky and see the twinkling of far-off stars and the majesty of the vast blackness beyond our dust speck of a planet and they see a place where liberals can't boss them around anymore.

Chicago's Amusement Tax Asks Big Tech to Start Paying Its Fair Share Jack Bandy examines Chicago’s social media tax and how Big Tech is seeking to overturn the city's effort.

Social media companies, after years of denying they are publishers, are now saying they are publishers in order to avoid a new Chicago tax. It's not the most intellectually honest thing I've seen.
