The Forsytes is beyond cheesy and taking infuriating liberties with Galsworthy's plot yet find I am hating and loving it. Susan Hampshire is as pretty as ever but couldn't they also have found something for Martin Jarvis? #1967

Tory councils should consider asylum hotel challenges, says Badenoch The Tory leader writes to council leaders after a court blocked a hotel from housing asylum seekers.

Those celebrating the High Courts decision regarding Epping seem to think people seeking safety will just disappear. We need genuine investment into community support schemes.Instead we have politicians telling the far right that their violent actions work. #r4today

This is a disgrace - the United States spitting on its own soldiers because they come from a minority the ruling clique holds in contempt. The people who made this decision have a special circle of hell waiting for them; liberals should fight to the bitter end to give these soldiers their due.

"Let’s first be clear: a third space wouldn’t only benefit trans people. Plenty of others would make use of them too... There's a real demand for these kinds of flexible, accessible, and respectful facilities. They're not controversial. They’re practical."

Turner points out that Pride in Surrey is a community interest company, not a charity... so how to trigger an investigation? Any institution or company supporting PiS(or having done so previously)should want answers about transparency, governance, safeguarding, culture. @surreycc.gov.uk could lead

Israeli plan for forced transfer of Gaza’s population ‘a blueprint for crimes against humanity’ Military ordered to turn ruins of Rafah into ‘humanitarian city’ but experts call the plan an internment camp for all Palestinians in Gaza

“When you drive someone out of their homeland that would be a war crime, in the context of a war. If it’s done on a massive scale like he plans, it becomes a crime against humanity,” Michael Sfard, Israel’s leading human rights lawyer

Pride in Surrey are being less than 100% transparent on their Facebook page, describing sex offender Stephen Ireland as a former volunteer. Do they think people don't know he was a co-founder and a former director?

Can I remind you of the many shameful sexual abuse scandals affecting many communities and institutions: for instance, the Christian churches, including the Church of England, of which I am a faithful but critical member. I haven't given up on Christianity as a bad cause. Have you?

‘If the council had listened to me, this paedophile would have been stopped’ In 2021, reports of a Surrey Pride founder’s ‘abuse of power’ were ignored. Four years on, he’s been jailed for a string of sexual offences

This is good on #StephenIreland. It gets beneath the surface. Seen nothing in The Guardian... I could have missed it but wish they had done this piece. It feels a little naive now but I proudly went to the first #prideinsurrey It felt like such a good thing 😔

Hundreds of families displaced by Israeli air strikes on Gaza, witnesses say At least five people were reported killed in the overnight attacks, as fears of an intensified ground offensive grow.

It would, obviously, be asking too much for our media and political class to care more about the repeated, state-directed criminal massacres of starving civilians in Gaza than what some rappers say at Glastonbury.

"I do not care where abusers come from. I care that they are stopped. I told parliament in 2012 that ethnicity was an issue – but not the issue. The real problem was how the credibility of victims – usually girls from troubled backgrounds – was routinely dismissed."

1. No, I don't think so. I don't think I understand well enough to give an accurate answer.

6. I don't believe so. I am no expert but I have tried to understand the issue

5. The person who forced her into an abortion could still be prosecuted, so that p3erson could be reported

4. I believe there have been cases women having had miscarriages being reported to police because of suspicions that it was an abortion. Once passed into law, the clause in this new act would mean no woman could be prosecuted for her own abortion, so there would be no point in reporting.

3. Yes I believe that 2 signatures would still be required

2. Miscarriage has never been illegal. The issue has been cases of women who suffered miscarriages being suspected of and investigated for having abortions. Awful.

The objections of BPAS and other women's reproductive health organisations to the Creasy amendment is I think because they consider it is too rushed a way to bring about major change - not allowing for sufficient debate and time to craft robust legislation.
