Absolutely need more trains. It continues to frustrate me that so many capital investments are made and then when it comes to meeting operating needs, "no money left"

Next thing it needs are more frequent trains to Hartford and New London. Then proper terminal has proper rail service. #shorelineeast

What is truly wearying is that 25-30 percent of our fellow citizens, braced with the attention span of sedated goldfish, are going to listen to today's soundbites from Trump and Hegseth about this astonishing debacle in Iran and say, "Welp, we won that war."

Simply because they say so.

This is why I try to protect words for when they are needed to convey the immediacy and threat they represent.

What Trump is threatening in Iran is *genocide*, pure and simple.

Of course, that word doesn't land the way it used to.

Beautiful spring day here in New England. I went for a lovely walk. In DC the Winds of War are blowing because no one who can act is standing up to the addled madman. If he acts, millions of Iranians will die & our world will be changed for the worse. Cuban Missile Crisis looks like a cakewalk.

April 6, 2026 (Monday) “It’s really difficult to cover him in a way that conveys how unhinged he is,” journalist Aaron Rupar of Public Notice told George Grylls of The Times about President Donald J.

“Today was an exhausting day as Americans seem to have little choice but to pay attention to a man who is bizarrely threatening what appear to be war crimes against Iranians while spinning wild tales.”

If a legislative committee sets time limits on a hearing, it is a time limit. No citizen’s 1A rights are being taken. The CT Senate Minority Leader needs to take a civics class.

Congratulations to the CT Legislature for putting time limits on the length of public hearings. Hearings that go into the wee hours of the morning are simply not productive. Kudos to Cristin McCarthy Vahey and Senator Saud Anwar for making the process saner. Stand tall and know many support you.

Spare us the performative nonsense. Twelve plus hours devoted to a public hearing is plenty of time, especially since nothing new was said. Let the Legislature legislate!
