Looking for a nice slice of my fiction to read? Check out Going To The Dogs, where Armitage and Emily have to solve a curious case of a dog in the nighttime with magic, trickery... and sarcasm.

Darkness swept across Birmingham. Electric lights flickered and went out, and silence reigned as televisions, radios, and computers died. A howl rose from somewhere in the city, deep and sombre, a wolf's cry. One heartbeat, then two, then a third and all hell broke loose.
Today's extra Werewolfy as I've just posted a piece about the different Auspices in Werewolf the Apocalypse on my blog! Rar!
Happy Odin's Day!
Step into the forest, where immortal women, wedded to the forest god, wait. If you're a sword and sorcery fan, this is for you.
How's your week going? I hope things are going well.
If you're in the Bournemouth area and love cats, please check out Pause Cat Cafe. Their animals are lovely, and the food and drink are good.

Are you interested in world-building? This post outlines how I approach creating a new world or interpreting part of one for fiction, role-playing, or just for fun.
Halfway to the weekend! I'm planning to spend the weekend writing (I'm sure that's no surprise to... anyone!) what about you?
Do you prefer a solo hero (or group of heroes) or the idea of characters being part of an organisation - like the characters in Charles Stross's The Laundry? I think the latter is more interesting these days.
Do you like feminism and the Fantasy genre? You might like Forest Brides!
A few years ago, I posted 101 Werewolf the Apocalypse plot seeds. If you like the game, please check them out!
Good morning, I hope you have a brilliant week. You are enough and you matter.
How's your January going so far? I hope it's going well and all the grey and rain isn't making it too hard.
Want to see Birmingham UK in a different light, check out my first novel A Strange And Sudden Fury.
There was a phantom called Mae,
Who haunted old Pere Lachaise,
She lingered by tombs,
In the light of the moon,
And frightened the tourists away.
Happy Saturday, what are you up to today? I'm working on a short story about a bard under a curse.
I a case of poor planning, I have no chocolate in the flat. It is raining. Google tells me the shops were shut.
Reader, I planned poorly.
Armitage lit a cigarette. "D'you think this social media stuff will actually help you sell books?"
I shrugged before replying, "I don't know really, I'm not very good at it."
"I noticed that mate," he said. "I reckon you should crack on with writing a new book, myself."
Glumly, I could only agree.
Who's your favourite dragon? I quite like Ruth from Pern, and have a soft spot for Smaug (even if he is the villain). Photo by Akshaye Sikand on Unsplash
Enter the world of the Forest Brides, full of magic, enchantment and gods. This was an attempt to write feminist sword and sorcery and explore trauma through fiction.

What are your goals for 2025?
I aim to finalise some life admin, relocate to a different part of the UK, and write a novel. Hopefully, there will also be some nice times and I'll find more of my tribe!
I was diagnosed as autistic this month, and I wanted to write a reflection about my feelings having had it confirmed. Check it out, on the Shores of Night:
A belated Merry Christmas, Happy Yuletide, Joyous Kwanza, Blessed Solstice, and Happy Hannukah to you all. Whatever you celebrate at this time of year, may you know peace and happiness. Let's hope 2025 is a good year. (The photo is by Jan Canty, courtesy of Unsplash, by the way.)
I recently got into Lore Olympus (https://buff.ly/3ezYLTA ) late to the party. It's very good, and definitely worth picking up if you like mythology, comics, and interesting reinterpretations of classic stories.
