I can’t see the original post but I always attempt this. I need the β€˜non working, seeing fewer friends time’ to do it

If Skydance acquires Netflix, we will inch closer to the future β€˜Terminator’ warned us about.

People misremember/misreport what they were according to their self-image bias?

Katherine Stewart writes for the latest @newhumanist.bsky.social about how Christian Nationalism and far-right activism in the UK is being funded by wealthy religiousfundamentalists in the US.

I think sometimes people hear it as a criticism of them. 'Well you don't need to lose weight... what must you think of MY weight?'

i.e. pre-judging the merits of my caring about this or what my goal is.

Yeah, just difficult if it's a last minute change, a very generous offer of hosting a group meal, and not someone I know super well enough to problematise it.

If you're in okay/good shape, no one has sympathy if you try to say 'Actually, I'm just trying to cut this winter, I can't.' You just sound fussy/ungrateful.

It's just stressful to think I'll probably undo yesterday's deficit and not even hit my macro targets.

If it's someone you don't know super super well, you can't even say 'What's on the menu?' or voice anxieties. My options are 'Make up an excuse and cancel' or 'Try to enjoy it and just accept that in this life you can't even make choices about your own food intake.'

How best to tell DC? I loved it anyway and there was so much promise from so many characters. It had the energy of 2000s Gail Simone Birds of Prey!

That would have been amazing

@timsheridan.bsky.social have you got any plans to resolve the Matt Price mystery or revisit any of the fun new characters you introduced in Teen Titans Academy?

It's Thanos with Lorde's hair saying 'The voice in my head says "Do you have the stones?"'

Thanks to Google Gemini I can now share the exact image that comes into my head early in Lorde's "Shapeshifter", which I love.

Anyone who cares about the state of human rights and personal freedoms, democratic values, and the rights of women and minorities should take note of the enormous networks of wealthy American donors now targeting the UK having achieved most of their strategic goals in the US.

Cardboard boxes and startled expressions,
a cat will ignore you yet leave an impression.
She slips through the room like a shadow at play,
then stares through your hand as it reaches her way.

You wonder if silence is all she intends,
if she suffers your presence, or suffers pretence.
But morning confessions are left at your feet,
a small tuft of dreaming, the warmth of her seatβ€”
or is she just plotting, demanding attention?

My lats have grown (yay) but now it makes my chest look smaller. So I need to work on my chest more.

I realise this cycle is why I think some guys never stop and get ridiculously muscular, which isn’t my goal.

Liam on X: "DC Comics is clearly struggling to find a niche for Conner Kent At the same time, Jon Kent is getting good stories And Invincible, based roughly on Conner, is one of the too rated shows on Prime DC should return the favour and draw inspiration from Invincible for Superboy" / X DC Comics is clearly struggling to find a niche for Conner Kent At the same time, Jon Kent is getting good stories And Invincible, based roughly on Conner, is one of the too rated shows on Prime DC should return the favour and draw inspiration from Invincible for Superboy

I also posted some more praise for your series / thoughts about what DC editorial ought to do with Jon and Conner on that other website.

I would loooooove to write even just a short excerpt for an anthology for them – your transition to comic books has been inspiring.

I never get any likes on this. Even though I don’t officially care about likes, I find I end up going to the one where I sense other people are at least seeing my posts and maybe because it’s giving me a little shot of dopamine 😒

@nicolemainessource.bsky.social also, I suspect β€˜Super Son’ wasn’t your choice at all but it’s the only aspect I have reservations about. (Superboy / Superman Jr would both be better names for a Jon who can no longer be Superman, especially if they are treated as unofficial names in-universe.)
