I remember seeing Igle’s attempts to redesign the costume when he & Gates got on the book & how they were rejected. So he had to settle for making it a skort… & even that got complaints lmao.

it’s reminiscent of her second DCAU costume to me. And while I’m not a rabid supporter of the crop top look or anything, I think this would look better if there was like… a larger gap between the skirt and top? idk it looks too small if that makes any sense.

I’m mostly excited that we finally have a woman on her book though.

I can agree that the writing has a layer of sanitization to it - the way tevinter & the crows are portrayed being the biggest examples.

but the people shouting that it’s woke aren’t complaining about that. they’re complaining that elves aren’t all white or that trans & nb people exist in the game

they had to restart the game 3 times during development and (in my opinion) the plot and writing suffered from it. add onto that the overblown culture war bullshit that latched onto this game… there was a lot going against it.

a) the 10 year development hell really killed the franchise momentum. Casual fans that started with Inquisition lost interest.

b) a lot of the dedicated fans jumped ship after it was leaked that only 3 choices carried over from the entire franchise.

I’ve been a fan since Origins, and I really think there are a couple of factors that play into the poor sales. The two biggest being -
