Knights of Guinevere!
Black and white drawing with screen tones. A group of people from a circle holding hands in the woods. Their heads warp and their shadows stretch out as one of the people becomes a beam of light. Dark palm trees and eucalyptus frame stars overhead.

This whole sequence of dreams is among my favorite moments in any RPG Maker game. It feels like a perfect follow-up the concept behind Mars in the original Yume Nikki: a world that feels surreal not because of how abstract it is, but because it's more real than the character exploring it
doll character mocking and taunting "bug" in various scenarios. by a computer saying "NEVER USED A COMPUTER BEFORE, BUG? HOPELESS BOOMER." and "YOUR EYELIDS LOOK HEAVY, BUG. REST HERE. I WILL PROTECT YOU." holding bug saying "I KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU, BUG. OH I EVEN KNOW WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU LEAVE THIS MISERABLE REALM! YOU WONT LIKE IT!" "YES IT IS CALLED THE ELECTRIC LIMBO BECAUSE YOU DIED TO ELECTROCUTION. YOU FIGURED IT OUT! CLAPS!" and the giant doll's mask on the ground saying "SEE, BUG? I WAS TRYING TO GUIDE YOU! NOW PICK MY MASK UP AND GIVE IT TO THAT CLAW SO I CAN CONTINUE TO DO THAT! OBVIOUSLY!"
a robotic doll being held by a claw, holding a little cloaked bug character by the antenna, the doll says "DON'T YOU SEE, BUG? YOU'VE BEEN DEAD SINCE YOU ARRIVED."
old limbocore concept art for the doll character name of "scratch"

finding the energy to draw again
That night, both women lay in bed in their respective homes.
The woman thinks of Pagliacci; while her struggles remain, this chance encounter has given her hope to carry on. She is glad.
Pagliacci stares at the ceiling. She hopes to someday be meaningful to someone. Until then, the show goes on.
For the first time in as long as she can recall, the woman feels comforted. It is not the fire of life rekindled in her heart, but a small spark, just enough to gently warm her. She opens her arms, and the two share a friendly embrace in the summer twilight.
Once more, Pagliacci has brought joy.
The woman thinks of her own life, of the various masks she wears each day. Flat imitations of herself. Careful efforts to avoid spreading her sorrow to others. She realizes that in every forced smile, every dishonest assurance, every laugh turned to sobs, a fragment of Pagliacci roosts within her.
The woman is surprised by this. Pagliacci seemed so whimsical and upbeat during her performance only moments before! How could she put on such a fine show while feeling so low?
Explains Pagliacci: "She is a mask I put on. My struggles are not hers to share. When I become her, I can briefly forget."
When the woman finishes explaining herself, Pagliacci gives a wry smile. "I understand how you feel," she says. "Lately, it feels like I've been drained of my pleasure as well. I once reveled in the joy of my audiences. Now, I feel like I only perform in hopes that others can be happy in my stead."
After the show, the woman sits on the street corner and laments her inability to feel truly satisfied with life. Suddenly, she hears the squeak of clown shoes approaching -- it's Pagliacci herself. "Are you okay, ma'am?" Pagliacci asks. The woman explains her woes as Pagliacci sits down beside her.
A woman goes to the doctor and tells her she's been feeling depressed. The doctor tells her, "I know just the cure. There's a clown performing in town named Pagliacci. She can bring joy to anyone."
Skeptical, the woman goes anyway. She enjoys the theatrics, but when it ends she is left unfulfilled.
Screenshot of the game "Soviet Republic: Workers & Resources". A football/soccer field sits across from a row of housing units in a small, wooded town. At either side of the field there is a giant statue of Lenin, standing a short distance behind the goal.
I'm inventing a new version of soccer called Leninball. Everything works exactly the same as regular soccer except that both teams have giant Lenin mechs that can be activated by filling your Lenin meter
Gameboy-style pixel art. A transformed werewolf crouches over a silhouetted corpse, both of them cloaked in shadows and partially illuminated by moonlight. The werewolf is tearing pieces of flesh out of the body. In the background, a full moon can be seen over a distant mountain range. The scene is bathed in a blood red palette.
Gameboy-style pixel art. A beam of pale blue light illuminates a darkened forest. A werewolf, mid-transformation, crouches on a fallen log, staring straight at the viewer. A second wolf stalks the shadows, face only barely visible beyond the light. Several sets of eyes glow from the deep shadows, each trained on the viewer.
"The wolves down in the valley are smarter 'n most. Some who've seen 'em swear they looked more human than animal..."
Happy Werewolf Wednesday! Have some recent werewolf art I've drawn.

A humanoid figure with their face hidden behind a large vulture skull mask. Their shoulders are adorned with large, dark feathers and their hair is long and unkempt. Blood is splattered across their chest.
The same figure, now with the mask removed. A woman with a gaunt face and grim expression stares at the viewer, eyes sunken and dead. Blood pours from her mouth and covers her chin.

A young girl, turned away from the camera, looks over her shoulder at the viewer. A cobweb-covered antler sprouts from her head above a large doe ear. The other side of her face is consumed by void, like a figurine broken open.
The same image as prior, with the addition of a broken halo over the girl's head. A pinpoint glows in the void where her left eye would be.

Pixel art. At the bottom center of the image, a woman lays in bed, staring up at the ceiling in apparent discomfort. Rather than a headboard, the bed fades into the robes of an angel floating behind her. The angel's face is half obscured by long, flowing hair, leaving only three devious eyes visible; its wings are stick-like, resembling a bat's fingers; and its robes billow and rumple as if underwater. At the bedside is a large window, through which a city cast in ominous red light can be seen. This light projects inward, accenting the woman and her bed but leaving the angel unaffected. Lumpy, red clouds hang behind the angel, and behind them the room appears as only a black void. The angel's robes appear to disintegrate as they pass through the window. The image is rendered entirely in three tones: off-white, off-black, and blood-red.
The same image as prior; but the red lighting has been replaced by a neon gradient of pink to purple, casting the mood as less ominous and more dream-like.
Sweet dreams... 🎭

Pixel art. An unclothed human whose body curls into a snail shell below the waist. They are lying on the ground, seemingly dead from a large wound across their midsection and a hole in the shell. The image is in tones of green and yellow.
Pixel art. The viewer is looking at a screen, seemingly on a fairly old television set. On the screen is a human, zoomed into just the head and surrounded by a black void. They appear to be shoving their face into the inside of the screen; but rather than simply smushing their face, it is dissecting them, displaying a detailed cross-section of the neck, mouth, and brain. The person in the television is staring directly at the viewer. The image is primarily in a calm blue-green tone, but with the cross-section in harsh reds.
Pixel art. A person stands in the foreground, most of their body hidden in shadows, but light illuminates enough of their face to see they are glancing over their shoulder anxiously. Behind them is a city street at night, mostly dark save for distant streetlights. The nearest light, however, reveals another figure following not far behind them. This figure, concealed by shadows, appears humanoid from the torso down, but their head appears to branch out into an indistinct mass with various tendrils curling off of it. The image is in mostly red-orange tones, with blue-grey accents.

A surreal digital drawing of a distressed figure on its knees, hands on head, top half of the body succumbed to a strange corruption. A house with a pointed roof can be seen standing atop a grassy hill in the background. Floating around the corners of the drawing are strange geometric shapes of unknown origin and purpose.
Glitching out.
