🧪 My first paper has just been published. 🥳
I looked at over 20 years of GRACE and GRACE-FO data to study ice mass change in Antarctica.
📉Between April 2002 and January 2025, Antarctica lost 68.4 GT to 92.2 GT of ice every year.

I've been having hard time to find the right words to convince you all that the genocide continues and your donations are needed for shelter, food and medicine. If you know, you know at this point. Please share and donate to keep families sheltered from the cold.

What does a geodesist look like, and what happens if you don’t “look the part”? @franckghomsi.bsky.social, a Black African scientist, takes us on his journey across South Africa, Canada & Cameroon, researching coastal climate change while battling racism and visa struggles. #Geodesy
🧠 How are you, really?
Today is World Mental Health Day - a reminder that caring for your mind is important.
Kristin Vielberg and Hanna Sänger from PhDpositive reflect on the mental health challenges of doing a PhD and share ways to make the journey more sustainable, fulfilling, and balanced. 🌱
👁️ Struggling to make your scientific figures clear and accessible?

I cannot stop talking about Palestine. We should all be talking about what's happening in Gaza and the West Bank.
Will you break your silence?
Would you speak if it was the other way around? I remember everyone being vocal about Ukraine. What is this hypocrisy?

Welcome! #geodesy
Almost survived my first day at my second #EGU24. I am feeling like a newbie but am getting asked many questions by the first attendees from my institute. 🥴
How is the second GA both easier and harder at the same time?!
On my way to #EGU24 by train. 🚄
I will present my latest results on Line-of-sight gravimetry from GRACE-FO on Thursday, 18 April, from 16:15–18:00 in Session G3.1 "Geodesy for Climate Research".
See you there!

We started a new series on interesting facts about geodesy! If you want to learn a bit more about what we do, or maybe the things you already use like gravity field models, altimetry data, reference frames but feels like a black box to you, this series might be for you!

Line graph time series side-by-side with units of gigatons on a scale from -6000 Gt to 0 Gt. Both Antarctica and Greenland observing long-term decreasing trends. There are larger losses in Greenland, and a seasonal cycle is visible.
Just updated my visualization of changes in land ice mass as observed by GRACE(-FO) satellite in Antarctica (left) and Greenland (right) 🧊📉
