Thanks! I too am really pleased how the dice turned out π₯°
The dice weren't planned. Just really wanted to be able to roll some dice on my screen one day and here we are now π
Full disclosure, those Investigator silhouettes are just stand-ins for now. Only one will be playable in the demo π«
Only one last item left on the ToDo-list. π₯°
The item is quite massive though π«
Thanks! That means a lot! π₯°
Glad you like it π₯°
Only one little thing to finish for the demo!
Too bad that one little thing is a massive redrawing project to make all of the art I've drawn for the game for the past months look unified π€£
Thanks! π₯°
Never fully satisfied. But the most important thing in gamedev, I've realized, is to be able to move of despite being not quite yet satisfied π
Had to update the trailer as the previous one was way out of date alreadyπ
Demo is coming soon. Slightly nervous. Mostly excited. π₯°

Thanks! π₯°
I'll keep my time polishing minimal!
At this point, my time would be better spent drawing new images for new content π
I just have to fix the worst offenders to reach somewhat of a consistent art style. The event art looked like the images were from like three different games π«
Thanks! That is great to hear π₯°
It does mean that most of my early art in the game is painful for me to look at though π€£
Thanks! π₯°
Most of the originals were really quite old.
Especially the Black Market one.
Straight up stolen from a pixel_dailies post of mine from 8 months ago, long before I was even making this game. π€£
I think my dayjob in design definitely shifted my view on criticism.
In the corporate world we'd routinely have to pay big money to get proper negative feedback π€£
If anything, I feel bad that I'm not in a position to pay for the time everyone spent giving me the incredibly valuable comments π₯²
Thanks! You've just unlocked a torrent of nostalgia in me π₯°
Mustn't start playing Shadowgate now!
I'd fail my quest and all that I loved would perish with me π«
Getting the kind people of bluesky to rate the images and leave comments on them was incredibly valuable! π₯°
While I was staring at the folder of images, I obviously could tell that some of them were off, but having some actual data and feedback made it so much easier to start working π
Thanks! π₯°
If nothing else, they're at least more in line with the rest of the game.π
The issues of slowly adding art to the game, over a half year period, while your drawing style is still trying to form itself...
Thanks! π₯°
For some of them, I changed the imagery enough that I'll have to go back to change the text description too but I think it'll be worth it π
7 done. 51 to go... π«
Luckily most of them won't require a complete redraw π
Spent few days redrawing the worst rated Event images π₯°
There are still many to redraw, so I couldn't allow myself too much time on polish.
But hopefully I'm at least heading in the right direction π€£
Thanks for the ratings and comments! π₯°

I've been pushing everything to main. I assume that's bad..? π«
Sorry, but I'm really quite lost when it comes to my usage of Git.
What would be the risks with using just the main branch?
For me, the whole concept of merging branches feels terrifying no matter how safe you say it is. π€£
I can vividly remember having to make backups of my save folder in some game, but can't for the life of me remember what it was π«
I added the dice completely on a whim, but it makes the game feel so much better to play! π₯°
π€£
I kind of do do that, in the sense that I do save often.
I just haven't properly built git into my habits.
It's probably because I learned most of my coding in MS-DOS era... I must update myself at least to this century π«
For some reason, in my dayjob though, I do manage to use git properly π€£
Luckily I'm working completely solo.
Which means I have even less of an excuse to not commit often π«
I really just need to somehow build the routine.
Hopefully I won't need a disaster to teach me a lesson to bring me to that. π
Feeling absolutely excellent now π₯°
"I'll commit when I'm at a good stopping point."
Week later:
209 files changed. +19,373 / β2,255 lines. π±
There never is a good stopping point.
I gained grey hairs imagining my hard drive dying mid-sync. π

Redrawing a lot of images at the moment, while also getting infinitely worried about wether the little demo will be able to sate the hype π€£π«
Me too! I think those two games inspired me more than anything else! π
Mostly they gave me the realization that you absolutely can make incredibly atmospheric and visual games even with very limited amount of actual art π₯°
I think I have everything the game needs finally in place! π₯°
Just doing some much needed polish now π«
Thanks!
Currently fixing final bugs and redrawing the lowest rated event images π₯°
I'll just have to see if I can avoid sloppy work since I'm kind of churning though them... π«
The are some positives to the Compromise. Even as a pile of bones, you still have the right to file a complaint, and maybe even get your rib back π€£
I feel you!
I had a similar but almost opposite cheat in my previous little game.
The portraits of the "Ghost"-characters were taken my a spirit-camera so they showed the "real" faces of the ghosts.
This was 100% because I tried and failed to draw a good looking ghost faces for these characters π€£
