BTW, I know you have a connexion to FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg. I'm a doctoral candidate there :-)

Yes, that's sort of my point (but also why I don't use H4 in future discussions). I'm clarifying the language a bit inthe post.
Thanks for the suggestion about v101! I'll definitely run BPE on it in a subsequent post.
Sorry, I'll make it clearer that Stolfi isn't claiming they are single characters but that I'm just testing the effect on BPE if they are treated pre-merged.
This is probably a better reference: voynich.nu/hist/stolfi/...
I'll update my post to link directly to it.

had a virtual "survey" by the movers. Now just waiting for the quote 😬

Definitely been investigated but not by me (yet)
People are often surprised given all my digital text work just how obsessed I am with physical books 😀
btw I'm moving to Germany next month to do a PhD at FAU Erlangen :-)
would love to see them at some stage
available anywhere?
second post out tomorrow
Informally or a presentation?
Not yet but it's certainly worth doing.
I’m used to that about the Greek New Testament 🤣
Putting together some Voynich analysis posts but nervous about posting them for fear of seeming like a nutter.
Haha, I’m not trying to crack, just using it as an interesting object of study 😀
I've been working on a site to help people learn features on the moon :-)
Again, if you have a Substack, the best time to switch away was months ago -- but today's the second best time.
nothing ground breaking, just some low-level analyses of character sequences using BPE

I've always had in-person visits for international moves in the past. And in this case there's a lot of nuance because some stuff is going to Australia, some stuff is going to Germany (and we may split those further).
30 minutes after the movers were supposed to show up for an estimate, I called them and they told me they don't do physical visits for international moves, only virtual. And yet they admitted I was scheduled for an in-person appointment.
This is NOT confidence-inspiring.
Oh I definitely plan a few.
