The top part of the Moon is illuminated. The gray cratered surface stands out against the blackness of space. The Earth appears in the far distance as an upside-down crescent moon shape. There is some lens flare in the top part and center of the image. Credit: NASA

Wishing this fabulously competent—and joyful—crew a safe return to a planet that, frankly, doesn't deserve them.

The use of “hallucinate” is a stroke of true evil genius in the AI world.

In ANY other context we’d just call them errors & the fail rate would be crystal clear.

Instead, “hallucinate” implies genuine sentience & the *absence* of real error.

Aw, this software isn’t shit! Boo’s just dreaming!

Last year the White House Correspondents Dinner abruptly unbooked Amber Ruffin. This year, Trump will be there and with all his “quiet piggy” abuse and outright censorship, they would never think of disinviting him. They are cowards and largely responsible for why we are where we are. Fuck them all.

Despite how they started, Knott's is a corporate-owned theme park now, with a historic restaurant on the side. But I'd love to buy tickets for a sit-down dinner event (*not* a buffet) featuring tastings of Boysenberry items prepared and presented with the care that setting would allow. (Sigh).

This whiplash where the president terrifies the world for a few days with unhinged threats and then says “never mind” and then there’s this implication that anyone scared of his unhinged threats was overreacting is very domestic abuse but make it a country.

"To put it bluntly, an X post today receives less than 3% of the views a single tweet delivered seven years ago."
If you think it is necessary to be on Twitter to communicate your fact-based worldview, the reality is that worldview is being smothered.

Honestly the #BoysenberryFestival was a bit of a letdown for us, again. @knottsberryfarm.bsky.social has a lot of food ideas that sound amazing, and probably would be if made to order, but are only ok when prepared in bulk and kept in warming trays the way they have to be for an event like this.

"Luddites" is a good term for those who oppose AI because the Luddites weren't against *all* technology, just forms of technology that they knew would pay workers less and turn out a shittier product

Pretty sure my “twice baked” potato was only about 3/4 baked the first time. Still tasty, but way too firm. #BoysenberryFestival

Never mind guns, can we ban fucking high-volume bubble blasters, at least during theme park food festivals? 🤨

Between Challenger/Artemis II and now this ...

Check on your GenX friends today. We are being severely triggered by memories we may or may not have suppressed for 45 years.

I realized two things yesterday.

1. For years, I didn't care at all about anything associated with rockets and going to space.

2. That's not right. I had just gotten sick to death of shitty billionaires and their performative expressions of wealth.

I never stopped loving NASA and its mission.

"Calm down. He won't be that bad."
"He won't go after political opponents."
"He won't try to overturn an election."
"He won't start a stupid, costly war."
"He won't purge the military."
"He won't use nukes." <--- We're currently here.

The Artemis II crew needs to know that Donald Trump will do whatever he can to give a stubby thumbs up in a photo op standing next to them when they land, so they had better practice their best vacant stares and grim expressions.

Every once in a while, our country still manages to do something worth being proud of. I'm surprised the fucking cockwomble didn't insist on his name sprayed 200ft high in gold on the side of the rocket. Go, Artemis, go...

This is 2.6% of the US population. Over one in 40 Americans came out to protest.

We are climbing rapidly toward numbers large enough to overwhelm the MAGA regime in a crisis scenario.
