Screenshot from the 1966 film 'Gamera vs. Barugon', in which a subtitled character says, "Hey, come on. It's strange, you being polite all of a sudden!". The two men shown are in a cave, where they are in the process of hunting for a hidden treasure. The man speaking is about to be betrayed by the person he is speaking to.

it's an ill-timed project that will absolutely be interrupted by the birth of my literal child, but what the fuck, let's get these discs ripped, these tracks ocr'd and start a fresh translation of 'gamera vs. barugon'.

A screenshot of the political villain Mister Duncan, mayor of a town besieged by a horde of blind undead Templar's in 1973's 'Return of the Evil Dead'. The shot is a close-up of a man making an angry face, with a set of stairs out of focus just behind him. His subtitle reads, "You probably LOVE it, getting cucked by her like that!"

i guess for lack of english subtitles for the second blind dead's 4k resto i made english subtitles for the second blind dead's 4k resto.

these should be rendered obsolete more or less immediately, since an American release is coming... sometime.

but i bet it won't read like this.

have moved on from wishing these barrel pants came in unisex so that i could buy them to just buying and wearing the motherfucking barrel pants.

they are comfy. they are huge. and they have a tasteful amount of swish. this was the correct decision.

had a second round of large hail about thirty five minutes later (2:45pm CDT), same location (Red Wing, MN). biggest look to have been ~1.5 inches diameter. @nws.noaa.gov

a photo of three hail stones arranged on a platter. three quarters sit below them for comparison, with a barely legible ruler (a metal one is all i have) above. the three stones are each a bit larger than a quarter in diameter.

Black and white photograph in square aspect, circa April 2024. Close-up of a flowering Bloodroot plant (Sanguinaria canadensis). The background is a mottled and out of focus dappling of light and shadow. The flower occupies the upper third of the frame, its seven long white petals so open as to be nearly flat around a central column of sepals that stand half as tall as the petals are long. The flower springs from a tall, narrow stalk that rises through the center of the image from a pair of frilly broad leaves that are mostly off frame.

Black and white photograph in a square aspect. In the foreground, sitting on a slight rise of dirt and grass, is the ornate brick and stonework announcement board for an ex church. On top of it sits a stone cross. Letters have been arranged on the black sign board, which reads "Second Amendment Club EST 2024". A dark stucco house sits behind, with two darkened windows and part of an upper story visible. A small portion of the ex church building, with a matching stone and brick foundation, white slat siding and part of a stained glass window, is behind the sign in the right hand side of the frame.

Black and white photo in a square aspect. Short view up a wooded dirt path to a golf course security gate. Though the metal grate doors are still chained together only one remains standing, dangling precipitously on worn hinges from its post. The other post, and the door attached to it, have fallen over. A security sign on the still-standing post reads "WARNING: Security Cameras in Use". Beyond the gate is a small stretch of the golf course the gate arguably protects, a swath of kept grass rounded by leafless hardwood trees that have yet to emerge from the Winter season.

Black and white photograph in a square aspect. Flat view of a pale cinder block wall with a single gray door mounted in it. A sign to the left of the door, white with black outline and with bold all upper-case black-printed text, reads, "Building management bans guns in these premises." The door has a faded sign with pealing edges affixed to it, just below eye level, that reads "Co-location entrance". Five QC code stickers have been inscrutably applied in a vertical line along the upper right edge of the door. Thin vines have grown all over the left side of the wall and making progress towards taking over the right side and the door as well. The door is sooty and stained and dirty, and mildewed at the bottom.

Black and white photograph, square aspect. Flat view of the side of a two-story brick building into which are set a pair of wooden garage doors in various states of disrepair. Four windows are inset in each door about two-thirds of the way up their surface, but nothing can be seen through any of them. A short and wide concrete ramp descends from the doors and leads to a driveway of laid brick. Above one of the two garage doors is another, much smaller window or door shuttered completely by white painted wood with a diagonal slatted pattern. The brickwork facade of the building is mostly linear, but brick archways have been inlaid above both of the garage doors as well as the smaller door above them.

Black and white photograph. Square aspect. View slightly upwards to the four black-hooded warning flashers mounted on a railroad crossing sign. The top two hooded lamps are angled so as to point slightly to the right of the viewer, while the lower to point slightly to the left. The signage, reading "RAILROAD TRACKS CROSSING" is mostly obscured behind the top two lamps.
