We wish @nicolasturgeon.bsky.social well following her announcement today to stand down as an MSP after decades of public service to Scotland. She has always supported GWL, & as First Minister, she officially opened our newly refurbished building in 2015, hailing GWL, ‘…truly a national treasure’

Thank you for your integrity, strength and smeddum. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 For implementing policies that allowed me to gain an education and access life changing healthcare. I am sorry @nicolasturgeon.bsky.social will stand down in 2026 and thank her warmly for her immense contribution to the Scottish Parliament and to government.

As Scotland’s longest serving and first female First Minister, she has done so much to improve the lives of people in Scotland.

Being one of the original 1999 MSPs, serving (by the time of the election) for 27 years - half my life - and getting to represent the best constituency in Scotland has been an honour beyond words.
It is time, though, for me to embrace different opportunities in a new chapter of my life 💛

Goodnight to everyone who loved her speeches, watched her rallies, cheered her plane arrivals, adored her style and dreamed of a Presidency full of joy and compassion.
