How Clean Energy Is Helping The World Respond To The Fossil Fuel Crisis
No one can blockade the sun, or raise prices on sunlight 🌞 That’s why clean energy is helping countries across the world respond to conflict and the fossil fuel crisis, from Spain to Pakistan. Take a look 👇
Meanwhile - oil and gas projects are being approved recklessly by the thousand, and 1.56 million acres of public land opened up for leasing in Alaska, last year.
Esmeralda 7 is a solar project on public land in Nevada that would add 6.7 GW of solar capacity to the grid from the sun alone but the Trump administration has denied its permit without ANY explanation: thenevadaindependent.com/article/feds...
The Biggest Solar Project in North America is on Hold. Dozens of states across the U.S. are fighting for solar but one huge project has been stopped in its tracks.
Have you heard of the HUGE solar project that’s been denied a permit in Nevada? It would power 2 million homes ⚡️👇
Graphic which reads 'Price of sunlight +0%, Price of oil +50%'
Reminder: The cost of the sun and wind will never increase because of conflict. While oil prices rise by almost 50% in the U.S. - sunlight remains free and abundant, forever. ☀️
Not only is this equivalent to 64 coal power plants but the report says we could add another 21% capacity by the end of this year, too 🥳
A new report by the SEIA shows that in 2025, battery storage capacity increased 30% compared to 2024, reaching 28GW of power 🙌 seia.org/research-res...
Did you know that less than a decade ago, the U.S. only had half a gigawatt of battery storage? Now, we have the same capacity as 64 coal-fired power plants 🤯 👇
PV Magazine has reported on 23 policies with the benefits of plug-in solar clearer than ever - energy bill reductions ✅ support of the clean energy sector ✅ lowered emissions ✅ pv-magazine-usa.com/2026/01/30/w...
There’s a BIG UPDATE to the progress of plug-in solar across the U.S. 🙌 Inspired by Utah’s law, 23 are now proposing policies to make affordable, accessible solar available for all. Take a look if your state is on the list ⬇️
157 new solar projects. 36 new wind projects. Enough clean energy to power 16 million homes. That’s all happening in the UK, where 6% of electricity in 2025 was powered by the sun ☀️ Read the news: www.theguardian.com/business/202...
“We don’t really need it anymore. We don’t need to be setting things on fire.” 👏
Clean energy experts sat down to discuss the power of solar for The Light Won't Dim, including @billmckibben.bsky.social ⏯️ Find the full documentary on YouTube: youtu.be/IDK-3RC5SgY
You can read the forecast in full here but it’s safe to say, the future is looking bright ☀️ www.eia.gov/outlooks/ste...
Wind power is expected to increase by 12% too, despite political challenges - some of which have now been fought, with 5 major wind projects resuming construction in 2026.
The future of U.S. energy isn’t in oil and gas. It’s in the sky. The EIA’s recent energy forecast has shown that solar power is expected to increase by 49% in 2 years - remaining the FASTEST growing energy source in the U.S 🤯

Clean energy provides 16.6m jobs worldwide, is rapidly decreasing reliance on fossil fuels 🛢️ and is lowering energy bills. The case for clean energy is clear. We need policymakers to put people over politics and stop prioritizing private interests over lower costs and proven solutions.
Solar is the cheapest form of energy and we all need access to it. In 2024, 81% of new renewable energy capacity produced power more cheaply than fossil fuels but barriers to access still exist. States like Utah & Vermont are taking inspiration from plug-in solar successes in countries like Germany.
The technology is ready and so are we. Red tape and slow pathways for approving clean energy projects stand in our way. All we need now are ways to fast-track clean energy projects and make it more accessible to all. 💡 States like Oregon are already taking action to streamline permitting.
Here are 3 reminders for why we need to champion renewables now more than ever for International Day of Clean Energy 👇🔋 #WorldCleanEnergyDay
Solar generation alone increased by 20% in 2025, with Denmark topping the leaderboard, generating 71% of power with solar and wind. 🇩🇰
With growth in every E.U. country and clean energy beating fossil fuels in 14 out of 27 countries, it’s clear that policy that supports the energy transition works, providing cleaner, cheaper electricity for the whole of Europe 🙌
Solar & Wind Overtake Fossil Fuels in Europe For The First Time Ever
It’s official - clean energy is leading the way in #Europe for the first time EVER with the sun and wind generating more electricity than fossil fuels in 2025 💥🧵
👷 Construction will now resume, saving thousands of jobs and powering over 350,000 homes and businesses as part of the $6.2 billion project which was nearly complete. A win that’s not just good for the planet but for people, too.
Wind power won't be stopped in the U.S. - Rhode Island just won a legal battle over wind power that proves clean energy is unstoppable.
🙌 Clean #energy is going nowhere! We're celebrating a huge win for wind power in Rhode Island. Developers successfully challenged the U.S. Interior Department's attempts to block a new wind farm 🧵
