Watching the Apollo 8 episode of From the Earth to the Moon.
Apollo 8 - the most underrated of space missions
it's what I'm here for
no regrets
Sure says something that it's going to take five different lawyers to replace Pam Bondi. They are Pam Blueberry, Pam Strawberry, Pam Tangerine, Pam Grape, and Pam Lime.
In case you missed it yesterday, we coerced my old boss @philipmichaels.bsky.social to resurrect the Pundit Showdown—after more than a decade!—for our 650th episode of Clockwise! Come listen to him put the question to me, @snell.zone , and @mikahsargent.com.
Feels to me like the definitive iPhone history is yet to be written. But given the 20 year gap and changes in Apple culture, we may have missed the window for more than what we have.
Apollo 8 is one of the all-timers even though they never landed. So this seems right.

Oh no, are you getting every April Fool's bit out at once?
Your takes are hot but not wrong
just some amazing bits in here including the true story about breaking the original iPod that @philipmichaels.bsky.social didn't want you to hear!
With Apple turning 50, iOS 26.4 dropping 35 security fixes, and the Mac Pro officially discontinued, @davidpogue.bsky.social joins @leolaporte.me, @ihnatko.bsky.social, @snell.zone, & @filmgirl.bsky.social to talk about his new book on MacBreak Weekly! twit.tv/shows/macbreak-weekly/episodes/1018
A few months ago I got asked to write a book review in the Wall Street Journal. I've been writing professionally for three decades but this was a new one, so I read a bunch of their book reviews and then wrote it to their standards. The editor noticed! A fun writing exercise.
we did it everyone
You wrote the definitive books about the creation of the Mac and the iPod. I know it's been nearly 20 years but… what about the iPhone to complete the trilogy?
I love it (I get the fries well done) - they opened one in my town and I have to just forget that it's there, but I love getting it on road trips.
I'm sorry to report that Stephen and I are going to have to stop Force Quit after episode 5 to focus on other projects
Happy to share the show with you via adjacency and thank you for standing up for open podcasts.
Finally someone comes out and says it.
Sometimes I think of George RR Martin writing in WordStar...
But I mostly write in a text editor or Scrivener. I do have an old Mac here with Word 5.1 on it just in case 😉

Happy Trans Day of Visibility! Trans saints have always been with us, from St Theodora of Alexandria to Pauli Murray, to name just two we covered on the pod.
Trans folks are sacred, and reveal to us the creativity that is at the heart of the image of God. Thank you for being you.
So generally writers don't write the headlines.
But in this case, I wrote the headline and they loved it.
Oh and I'm on the Vergecast this week too, with @davidpierce.xyz !
Here's my second piece for The Verge on Apple at 50: Between Jobs, in which I point out the good and bad things that happened during the Sculley/Spindler/Amelio era.
