I thought we had that with Thatcher and a Queen, that was really successful, wasn't it?

I wish all the people who want to rejoin the EU would face up to answering the question: "Why would the EU want us back with the opinion polls currently suggesting that a Nigel Brexit Farage government is a definite possibility at the next election?"

Poor Jeff, having a terrible time with his sitter, I feel for him! ๐Ÿ˜œ

You're making the assumption that the hosts don't know it's there! Think of all the other possibilities if they do: a) be remembered as the person who stole the object b) .... you can fill in the other possibilities.

So creating Trump the victim standing firm against the perfidious Europeans could well energise and bring out the MAGA vote.

Far better to stand on the sidelines and let Donald destroy himself in the view of the majority of US voters.

He's doing that very nicely all by himself at the moment

Well the only people who can do anything about the President of the USA are the people of the USA and that chance won't happen until November.

Currently, it appears that Trump's approval rating is hitting new depths and it appears that the chance of the Republicans loosing are very high.

Pretty much everybody, on my side of the Atlantic, is going on about which is the best way to confront Trump. My personal view, which I hope roughly coincides with Starmer's, is to do very little without heavy confrontation.

Why?

It's also worth remembering what happened to Rohm and the other leaders of the brown shirts in 1934!

Old Films The life remarks page from the Stuart McKears site, one of only a handful of disabled professional film cameramen in the world.

Produced and shot a film about disabled people circa 1980 called "Valid Persons" . For those who might be interested, a poor copy can be viewed www.mckears.com/validp.html (very poor copy from VHS)

Of course, always was, always is. Though society has got better over the decades. I think I'm around your father's age and even though my physical disability hasn't changed, I've "fortunately" gone, over the decades, from "too disabled" to "I didn't notice".

I wonder what it is called when it's directed by both sexes to disabled people?

While probably AI, it's still very iconic image reincarnation for those of us old enough to remember.

Don't leave old decrepits in suspense, I won't be able to have an afternoon nap until I know what substitutes a crumpet for a crumpet!

or, for that matter, that matter the British public would agree to having use/allow the euro, the Schengen Area (border-free travel), the Justice & Home Affairs (JHA) area, and the Charter of Fundamental Rights, plus its historical budget rebate,

the European Commission, and the European Parliament, followed by ratification by all members. This means any single member state can veto rejoining, and the process involves demonstrating adherence to democratic values and meeting the strict Copenhagen criteria for accession"

The single biggest mistake you're making is assuming that the EU would want us back!

"for a country to rejoin the EU,
all existing member states must unanimously agree to its application, a process requiring approval from the EU Council (representing governments),

Jeff thinking: "Why am I being taken for a walk in a river where my nether regions are being immersed in cold running water and, even worse, by someone who couldn't be bothered to match their nails with my rain attire colour!"

After the end of WW2, there was the Reckoning when the remaining leaders of the 3rd Reich faced court for their conduct during there period in power.

Some faced the ultimate penalty, others by their own hand and many more went to prison.

I wonder whether that will happen eventually in the USA?

I'm now 80+ and at this precise moment I have one i9 PC with 3 monitors, a Pixel Pro, an i7 laptop and 6 other Android devices all currently connected for various projects I'm developing.

I am, of course, an OAG - I know what this means, but do you?

I think this is about US citizens as here in the UK I believe there is a majority of oldies who are computer literate, probably because of the BBC Micro being introduced to schools in the 1980s.

While not being of that generation but it did spur me on to buy my first machine.
