It is miserable even down here in town! Good day to reorganize the closets. Wylie is so disappointed in me and did NOT enjoy our trip to goodwill together 😂

Pretty glad we didnt try to hike for miles and climb exposed peaks in this!! This is why we always watch the forecasts closely before we head out even for a day trip.

We did have a very nice lazy woodswalk this morning, despite the drizzle!

This 3day weekend was supposed to be our big spring adventure. Weather cancelled it (tomorrow will be a nasty one up in the mountains). And you know what?

Thats totally fine. Looking forward to a loungey weekend with lots of reading and dog snuggles.

Its really nice when the pressure is off.

The tracks will still be there for a week or two; the three hour drive, each way, is the limiting factor 😂

The dogs and I ended our season the same place we started it—Prospect Farm trails at Jackson. Our first run back in mid-November was, and feels like, a long time ago.

Saturday was good reminder that skiing is fun, even moreso when chasing dog butts.

And being listed as an official finisher. So next year he’d be “X time finisher” not “X+1 time finisher”. And all finishers from every year are cataloged.

My story from #ITIalaska this year didn’t capture 1/100 of the drama, the difficulty, the adventure, the community. Athlete-led rescues. A 5-day campout with a cooler of bacon. A team of 4 winners who were the only official 1000finishers. Then, for the people’s [unofficial] champion, there was this🤍

They were racing that one, trying to get across the sea ice to Koyuk before the winds. One racer was an hour behind the pack and ended up getting to town nearly 5 hours later, citing “biblical-level shit” 😂🥶

Four #ITIalaska bike co-champions: Ryan, Mayella, Kendall, and Erick. Mayella and Kendall’s rookie Nome Attempt results in a win, and Erick is the third ever to finish in all three disciplines.
🏆🏆🏆🏆
One athlete left: Gavan, on foot. Cutoff is 3pm Tuesday which he’ll miss for an expedition finish!

Not a drill 🚨 🚨 🚨
The #ITIalaska bikers are headed to Nome! This year was a freaking BATTLE and that anyone will finish is epic 🏆

Sorry I haven’t been sharing about the race here this year…my honest answer is I forget BlueSky exists 😂 I prefer the format and realtime discussions of discord

The “goopy option” are these two dermatone products—i carry this lip and face stick and really lay it on thick both for the SPF and for wind protection.

But also… fake news!! I was not windburned. As i posted a couple hours later, my skin was perfectly baby soft!! 😂😂🤍

Leuko tape is very commonly used by winter ultra people! I use a pre-cut product shaped to fit your face, but essentially the same as leukotape
