My four year old stops any nature doc if the voice isn't Sir D Attenborough's. 'I want to watch nature!' he exclaims. Sir David Attenborough is nature 💚

A picture of a dolphin leaping out of the ocean, it is nearly perfectly horizontal, 15 feet above the surface with no visible splash. It could easily be confused with flying upward, with no gravitational return to the sea in the future
our mismanagement of the environment has crossed the point of no return, the dolphins are leaving
Insulate. Electrify. Heat pumps. Cutting the cord to fossils is the right thing to do - right now - for stability, budget and sustainability.

I haven't dived much into our oceans state before - but this one was the perfect lure. How protecting (and then defending) a space will surprise in it's recovery and abundance, and how that was made happen with multiple stakeholders at once. A brilliant.. and hopeful set of battles won for nature!

Our first commercial facility development is in full swing, and in about a few years time the world will see its first biochar shipments at scale serving the horticultural (greenhouse) sector! Time to pave the way for more sustainable food growing and clean energy generation. 📈 #carboculture #arcmm
This is why we need a portfolio of approaches. No silver bullets here.
Which is why we need biochar: it's safe, much cheaper, and a removal with abundant storage capacity.

On track for 54% reduction in GhG emissions from 1990 to 2030. Champagne! 🥳 🥂 🇪🇺
Many reasons, some negative: industry offshoring etc, but cheap renewables, electrification and efficiency are a solid investment for 🌍 & 💶.

Freedom of science and research is one of Europe's great strengths.
It’s how excellence and innovation thrive.
We’ll make proposals to help scientists and researchers ‘Choose Europe’.
The best and brightest from around the world.
To make Europe the home of innovation again.

This should be rolled out across Europe - the energy transition will require vast numbers more of skilled people to get infrastructure built, maschine shops staffed, etc!

Devastating and truly unforgivable. The US administration is now aiding Russia in covering up war crimes targeting children.

Why other forms of generation are needed in the mix. Bio-based gases, and excess heat used from all sources. This will take effort to fix but the result will yield a robust, domestic, clean and cheaper energy supply in the end. Worth the work!
A really good post by ex CEO of Nori, Paul Gambill, about what's wrong with the carbon removal market as it stands. It wont scale like this. Hint: a few companies deciding what good looks like, obsession of perfection when we haven't gotten any tonnage out, etc.

Some simplification for SME's reporting. Now let's funnel the ~60B€+ fossil subsidies into domestic, zero carbon energy production to amp the competitiveness and electrification of the EU. 🤝💶

This was a good read. The issues haven't gone anywhere, which to me says we need to stand taller, stronger and sober in the face of this new repression.
For those that welcome progress - let's use relatable language that makes
common sense, and accept that reality is messy.

Lots to unpack.
