Update on my Werewolf character cards. This has been great for unwinding after work.

I've been seeing a lot of "Old games are bad because they were made by lazy developers" as the reason for basic gameplay and graphics.
It hurts my brain.
I don't live in the UK anymore, when I visit the #BBC website to check their news I get so many adverts compared to last month.
Obviously not vetted either by their content.
Wondering how much they make now advertising is even more prevalent on their site.
I remember being told the books were a must read as a teen-ager but found Harry so insufferable I gave up.
I want to teach my students how to play Werewolf, so naturally I began by drawing my own cards.
The art is inspired by @kleientertainment.bsky.social Donβt Starve and Jamie Hewlett`s #Gorillaz work mixed with my substantial lack of creative talent.

Can't tell if bad take or trolling, the total lack of any punctuation making it difficult to work out what your stance is.
The majority of people working in 3D in the 90s were trail blazers who are still working at the forefront of 3D technology today.
Finally. Combo attacks working. Now a single ability action can have multiple montages in a array and combo through them during defined combo windows.
Importantly, dashing can cancel out of the cooldown getting that oh-so-good MonHun great sword feel.

I'm really loving the new animations.
Posting about games writing, I don't have much to say on social media beyond that I've had a good go at it today, and that hopefully it's less crap than yesterday.
Had a stupid idea while on the train to work and spent my commute prototyping a social deduction card game.
I'll test it with my students and see if it actually works and more importantly, is actually fun.
Having another go at making a very small, 2D game.
Scrawled out and tried refining a character over the past two weeks.

Scratchy line art of the character Baymax from the movie Big Hero 6 as it appears on a Lorcana trading card originally illustrated by Jared Mathews. Baymax has been drawn using purple and crudely shaded. In his right hand he is holding an orange life ring. His left hand is raised in his typical βHelloβ wave pose.
Love the Baymax Lorcana card art by Jared Mathews and tried to draw that as well. Iβd love to get the original art on a t-shirt or something.

Four crude drawings depicting the character Baymax from the Pixar film Big Hero 6. In the top left, Baymax is in a sitting position, facing the viewer while stroking a cat in its lap. To- right Batman is showing healthy food alternatives using his chest screen, pointing to happy, frolicking carrot and broccoli. Bottom left Baymax is looking at something out of view. Bottom right, Baymax is sitting and reading a manga while looking off to his right. This one and the previous image have been shaded to indicate a light source.
I was watching Big Hero 6 and was compelled to badly draw the manga style art shown during the credits.

Nice anatomy! For your first model this is impressive!
A decent feature of my work in GBstudio magazine
It's been a while since I talked in-depth about the thing I've spent 20 years of my life doing professionally; namely pixelart .
I wonder if there are any gamedev outlets that would have me
@checkpointau.bsky.social ? @rockpapershotgun.bsky.social ?
That's an incredibly immature view to hold.
I failed a job interview last year because I was over 35.
The agent told me he's never been able to place anyone over 30 at a games studio.
Approaching 40 and my interest in art and my ability is growing and improving exponentially. Fuck that guy.

The LC project is just something I'm having fun with in my free time. It may never be something anyone else ever play. I have no plans to collaborate on the project as I have zero funds to properly compensate contributions. (I will not accept free labor! Artists should be paid for their skills.)
Bought some ink pens and nibs today. Drew a cat and tried to draw a deer.
I love how the metal nib pens feel to use.

Every day I look at the art for this game and I think I love it more each time. This art style just looks so cool to me.
If you want to see some really nice indie game art, throw "ATTENTION INDIEDEVS" into the bluesky search bar.
Finding so many really good looking projects to follow today.
The premium currency, cosmetic and season pass shops will be fully functional at release, the game might be in a fully playable state 6-18 months post release.
These are all so fun! As a Raichu fan, I love how chubby you've kept it!
Wittering on about new IP being risky, then cancelling the much anticipated Prince of Persia remake while also apparently doubling down on throwing out more souless Live Service shite.
The reality of working as a teacher;
I have been ill with five different infections since returning to work on January 5th.
I have never been sick more frequently, or with such a variety of illnesses, than during my time as a teacher.

That's very atmospheric.
I dislike Epic, but UE5 is just the skeleton.
The 32GB weight comes from asset density. 4K textures, uncompressed global audio, and Nanite-level geometry for every brick take up space. It'll only be available on current gen hardware because nothing else can run it.
Layoffs are the cancer.
These graphics are beautiful. I really love the way this looks.
