AI is like Brexit, in that the people pushing it don’t point to concrete benefits. Just the potential. The mystery box. Something they imagine makes things better.
At the same time they ignore the downsides. The reality. Believing that negativity about mystery box changes its content.
A depressing look at the labyrinth of AI slop courses being shoved at people under the guise of education. You don't learn any actual, useful skills from them
Companies keep forcing AI into everything but what they should be doing is inventing duvet sleeves so you can read in bed in winter without your arms getting cold
"AI is now integrated into your search screen" blares my phone, part 2147 of "objects that I own becoming worse without my consent"
Normally we drink ‘a cup of tea’. It only turns into ‘a nice cup of tea’ following some exertion eg shopping or mild contretemps/disappointing news/ etc.
"you are taking in the human centipede of content from the very end of the line" is such a good way of describing AI
my most radical take is that i think machines and computers got no soul so it’s ok to beat them into pieces with a hammer

You'd think it would be impossible for a fish to look like they've just remembered leaving the oven on. You'd be wrong.
People using their phones while driving blows my fucking mind. You're controlling several tonnes of metal at speed. Stop this! What the fuck are you playing at!?
I believe that Cookie Monster started out human and became the monster he is today through his obsession with cookies. He is the Sesame Street Gollum
This is basically "replace yourself with a chatbot"
Seriously? Outsourcing human connection to the robots now? Why live when AI can do it for you!
If the act of doing the thing makes you miserable and unhappy, I’m sorry, but you are not built to do the thing. AI will not help you. You need to find something else that you love and do that instead because being “good” at the thing STILL means you’re doing the thing the whole time!!!
Lead academic Dr. Tricia Squire explained: “If we know one thing about life, it’s that nothing changes. That’s why they say ‘this too shall not pass.’”
I’m the kind of person who says “no worries” while secretly creating a 4-part documentary about the incident.
Back in May 2021 I posted on twitter about a journey I'd undertaken to find a tree that I can see from our bedroom window. I've decided to post it verbatim on here as lots of people really enjoyed it. So, here it is…
