EU energy ministers reached an agreement to gradually phase out remaining natural gas imports from Russia with a full ban in place by 1 January 2028.
The final text will now be discussed with the European Parliament.

In fact, the gap between countries' planned fossil fuel extraction and global climate targets has widened.
Turning the tide on these indicators is essential for climate policy success.

the graphics shows the average price for a new electricity contract in Germany (At 4000 kWh). It shows a strong increase in 2022 which then returned to levels around 25 to 30 ct/kWh as of Jul 2023.
It's primarily expensive to keep an existing (expensive) contract. New contracts fell below 25 ct/kWh in late 2024 and are currently below 30 ct/kWh: www.verivox.de/strom/stromp...
