The Handbasket: “I heard screaming matches—[men] full-on yelling and screaming at people in their offices, slamming doors,” Jennifer said. “Stuff that after a while you're like, ‘oh, okay, well, so-and-so is on a tear again. I guess we'll just avoid them today even though I have to go in and take them these rounds.’” Wenner, according to her, did not make any attempts to lower the temperature.

She remembered one especially hostile encounter with a male editor. “One time somebody—one male editor—when I was bringing up something, [he said] something to the effect of, ‘well, it's a good thing your opinion doesn't matter,’” she said. “And it was so heated and rude, and it was somebody I worked with like, 14 hours a day.”

EXCLUSIVE: I interviewed a dozen women about what it was like to be a staffer at Jann Wenner’s Rolling Stone (in light of his recent comments.) They described an office culture of “palpable fear” that was “a horrible place for women.”

I could not tell you with any degree of certainty how often I get hiccups. It could be twice a year or every second day. I truly have no idea.

10% of my take-home wages go towards therapy and sometimes I wonder if I'd be better off just having that much more money each week

I use the same to do app for my everyday type housework stuff that I do for long-term house maintenance stuff, and putting the amount of time shit like that actually takes into the task title has really helped put stuff in perspective (e.g. wipe down bathroom sink (3 min) )

Turned out she wanted to watch the one I was planning to watch (Witness For The Prosecution) another time so I went for the most reliable exclusionary genre: movies with five men on the poster holding guns (The Untouchables)
