"Because Cats Can't Fly" is my favorite public sculpture in downtown Kitchener. Created by artists Veronica and Edwin Dam de Nogales. Located near Kitchener Market LRT station.

Best of luck!
This fold looks great! And thank you for sharing a link to the jam!
An assortment of 8 mini zines of various sizes, 3 half-page zines and one very small book. The book is called "Trying Unfathomably Hard to Live".

It will bring together writers, illustrators, micro-publishers & zinesters. There will be a free distro table (take one, leave one kind of thing) and I am so excited for it!

They are adorable! Both the cat & the blanket! ๐
A view from the Central Station at the office building and three highrises. The sky has a pleasant pastel blue color.
Waterloo Public Square during snowy night. Beertown pub sign is visible on the left.
Snow covered trees highlighted by the morning sun from the back.

Could be! Especially if the folks are getting a lot of rejections (or are very afraid of getting them). I appreciate your hard work ๐๐ผ Sharing is caring, and it's sooo nice to see people who are willing to show it to others.
I'm hoping to table at a zine event for the 1st time this year & the internet search makes it so hard to find anything local!
Have finally stumbled upon these though!

Kitchener & Waterloo people, if you'd like to see the KW Minizine Machine in person + get some zines, do come to the launch event!

I did it in July 2025, my inner performer is happy (and I love seeing her that way).
I love Lavender Fizz Open Mic Comedy at @twbcoop.bsky.social! Invited a friend to the 1st year anniversary show, and she enjoyed it as well which couldnโt have made me happier.
I might even do my own 5 min set sometime. It's such a welcoming space.
A 3-piece band SVVOON out of #Guelph and #Kitchener has their 2nd album out. I enjoyed "The Last Thing" and "Get In the Car". Wondering whether the rest of it will grow on me...

Sending a virtual hug to everyone who is lonely or currently away from their partner, friends or family. Life is no joke, people, be kind to strangers when you can.
Two Canada geese on a snowy riverbank. The one in the rear has its neck coiled and is loudly honking with beak open and tongue out.

Yellow and black sign that reads "Bike Path. Look Both Ways" against the morning sky.
Snowy paved park path at night. The short yellow lights are illuminating the path on the left.

The same winter walk in the morning and evening. Both enjoyable. Repetition does not equal boring if you teach yourself to really notice the shifts and fluctuations.

Definitely. Dressing accordingly and having a thermal flask with a warm drink makes all the difference.
I'm finaly better (knocks on wood) and this week seems to be good for filming outside (not slippery & not too cold or windy) so hooray! It's camcorder time.
Absolutely!
This common cold was bummer. Got sick right before Christmas and can't wait to be on the other side of it. Hopefully just a couple more days.
I have done so many cool things with my band, this is just one of them. youtu.be/ypom2AFeb7c?...

Is it Creemore, ON? Thank you.
You're welcome! Happy 2025 reading :)
Everyone in Silico by Jim Munroe. It's the world where lots of people choose to migrate their mind into the virtual reality. But some don't. It is set in Vancouver. I think it is pay-what-you can on author's website.
Also, Bluesky is pretty small so just searching for Ontario music and going through accounts it finds could also work.
I think @alyssawrites.bsky.social from Spectra is from Waterloo?
I loved that we had some snow for Christkindl market this year, it definitely helped with setting the festive mood.
