They're also very selective about what goes up and what doesn't. I read something a couple of years ago (by Jack Monroe, I think) saying that if the M&S 'Dine in for £10' deal had gone up in line with some of their other products, it'd be over £30 now. Not quite as tempting an offer.

Hadn't heard of this, or these, until an article about it popped up while I was scrolling through FB the other day.
It's a decent listen. Not massively original, but my God, there were FAR worse 90s emo albums that sold far more than this.

Two hooded figures with lamps approach a moonlit, isolated cottage.
A woman answers the door.
We have come for the child, says the hooded figure
So soon? she asks
It is time, says the hooded figure.
The woman is distraught. We should never have got him a library card!
What is done cannot be undone, says the hooded figure
We couldn’t see the harm! We just wanted him to enjoy reading!
For most, it ends there, says the hooded figure, turning away and walking into the wilderness
Oh lord, What have I done! says the woman,
the child walks past her and out into the darkness with them.
Do not cry mother.
I am a writer now.

Creatures, old records, psychedlia and time, sounds pretty much like my perfect book. And I'm always on the lookout for a great bookmark.

Between grassroots this morning and Mrs N's birthday, been out for most of the day. Managed to catch most of the match though.
Had worse Sundays.

Note to self, next time there's a "turn the commentary off" option, take advantage of it. You'd think it had just been Brazil 1982 vs Brechin City, to listen to them.

Fundraising idea. Golden Goal tickets, but instead of the time of the first goal, the winner is whoever gets the time of the first mention by the commentators that Gomez has never scored before.

Is Liverpool's pass completion below 50% yet here? Because it feels like absolutely everything is just going straight back to a blue shirt.

Didn't know this existed until I stumbled across it while searching for something else.
Is it any good? Well, they're great, and the songs are great. Absolutely loved it.

I'm in sunny Yorkshire, Martin. Very sunny indeed, today. You'd struggle to get a shot away from the sixth floor window with this sun in your eyes!

Brilliant news. Can't wait til my copy arrives (I'm hoping for the thing that sometimes happens with pre orders, where the post moves a bit quicker than they're expecting it to, so it lands a day or two early)

Of course it is, because it's always the same with this stuff, isn't it - it never stops.

I mean, if you were Iran and had no intention of building nuclear weapons you'd definitely start exploring that possibility now, wouldn't you ?

If they had a sense of humour (or mischief) they'd put them on the top shelf so you need a ladder to reach them.
