Today LA County joins the Cambodian community as they mark the 51st anniversary of the darkest period in their history.

On Cambodian Genocide Remembrance Day, we recognize the resilience of the Cambodian community and the many ways they have made us a stronger and better county.

I urge the district to return to the bargaining table in good faith and work toward a fair agreement that respects these teachers and puts students first.

I stand with the striking Little Lake School District teachers.  It’s not right that they are seeing cuts to their healthcare benefits and not even being offered a pay raise. I support their call for smaller class sizes and more special education programs.

The 4th District is home to the largest concentration of Cambodians outside of Southeast Asia— and it's important that we celebrate this community's culture and history.

That's why I brought a motion to today's board meeting to declare April as Cambodian Heritage Month. 🇰🇭

April is National Deaf History Month— and today we made history with Deacon David Rose from Holy Angels Catholic Church in Vernon, who became the first deaf person to ever lead our invocation in ASL.

Not only is Dolores Huerta a critical voice in the farmworkers movement— but she is also an example of courage.

Today as she turns 96, I want to thank Dolores for her bravery in sharing her story, and her lifelong fight for civil rights.

Joined the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium last night to celebrate their 90th anniversary and help cut the kelp ribbon for their new exhibit halls!

Thanks to the dedicated aquarium staff and Caroline Brady who leads the Friends of the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium group.

The cause of the crash will be investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration. Authorities are working to gather more information and will provide updates as they become available.

This is a tragedy and my heart goes out to the loved ones of those who lost their lives. I am grateful to our paramedics and Sheriff’s deputies who quickly reached this remote area and are handling this incident with professionalism and care.

I was just informed by @lacofd.bsky.social that a small plane carrying two people crashed on the south side of Catalina Island opposite Avalon. Paramedics who were first to reach the site confirmed both individuals aboard the aircraft were deceased.

I wanted to bring a little surprise for the guests tonight at the Commerce Casino… and I bet these cards are going to be a hit.
