D.C.'s Delegate has a full Congressional Member staff, has full voting rights in committee, can lead important House committees, and has the capacity to lead constituent services to all federal agencies (e.g., VA claims). EHN led House T&I SubC for Highways + Transit -- a critical subC.

Anyway, we have ample research on how living under a state of sustained terror and stress causes life-long health problems as well as intergenerational epigenetic effects. This feels like it's making you sick because it actually is making you sick.

And yet at the very same moment, four flesh-and-blood human beings are hundreds of thousands of miles away taking pictures of our delicate little world. Their mission and their photos remind us of something else entirely—of a yearning to learn, to explore, and to band together to become something greater than the sum of our parts. If Trump’s claims of mass destruction represent humanity at its smallest, weakest, and most cowardly, then those who are gazing upon our planet right now from afar represent the best of what we have to offer. How else to hear these words from Koch:

We will explore. We will build. We will build ships. We will visit again. We will construct science outposts. We will drive rovers. We will do radio astronomy. We will found companies. We will bolster industry. We will inspire. But ultimately, we will always choose Earth. We will always choose each other.

Grammarly was really, really good from like 2018 through 2022ish as a superpowered spell check. It wasn't sold as an "AI tool" then, and the feature bloat of today hadn't started. It's now meh at best. And Office 365 products had adopted a lot of the grammar check by late COVID period.

A DC budget update: things are super uncertain still, but here's what I can say after talking to folks in the Wilson Building recently:

A budget presentation is likely on THURSDAY. But it might not be certified by the CFO by then: they say they still don't have all the materials from the mayor.

We really could've used some actual, serious traffic calming measures on North Capitol and Michigan Ave near the new McMillan development there. Instead, we're doing some basic signal work and retaining the road designs that encourage people to drive this fast.

It's a parochial view by Peters, in that urban areas are very anti-Trump. In D.C., at every corner there are stickers or pasted-up posters* that are anti-Trump. We probably don't *need* No Kings (tho I'm attending stuff today). But in many places, this kind of mobilization is important…

My favorite part of the picture you chose for the Navy Yard is that kids are swimming in a public wading pool that the BID tried to ret-con as always prohibiting swimming despite the many years of non-enforcement. (Agreed on your general point).

Proud to have been the ONLY DC Delegate candidate to have attended today’s @waba.org / @freedcproject.bsky.social protest to save our Bike Lanes from Trump’s petulant tyranny.

DC needs statehood NOW so we are not at the mercy of the federal government for something as simple as road safety!

Interesting: NPS will soon transfer jurisdiction to D.C. over land in the West End that's located around and behind the Francis Pool and Education Campus, and includes tennis and basketball courts already managed by @dcdpr.bsky.social. The transfer is facilitate maintenance and upgrades.

NEWS: In a lawsuit to stop the planned removal of the 15th Street bike lane, @waba.org says the Trump administration is violating the Administrative Procedures Act because it hasn't consulted NCPC and because the decision is "arbitrary and capricious."

The feds removing this bike lane makes our streets less safe — both for our residents & all the tourists enjoying DC. 🚲 🌸 And it’s brought to us by the same folks trying to stop DC from holding dangerous drivers accountable. It all leads to putting more people in harm’s way.

D.C. voters! Please help me earn a spot on the June 16 primary ballot by completing a line on the linked petition form attached. We're making a final push to collect signatures by end-of-day on Tues, March 17, 2026. It's a hacked-together method, but DC BOE confirmed it works. bit.ly/SignForGordon

The feature, which launched in August, claims to help you “sharpen your message through the lens of industry-relevant perspectives.” When users select the “expert review” button in the Grammarly sidebar, it analyzes their writing and surfaces AI-generated suggestions “inspired by” related experts. Those “industry-relevant perspectives” include the likes of Stephen King, Neil deGrasse Tyson, and Carl Sagan, among many others.

The Verge found numerous other tech journalists named in the feature, as well, including former Verge editors Casey Newton and Joanna Stern, former Verge writer Monica Chin, Wired’s Lauren Goode, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman and Jason Schreier, the New York Times’ Kashmir Hill, The Atlantic’s Kaitlyn Tiffany, PC Gamer’s Wes Fenlon, Gizmodo’s Raymond Wong, Digital Foundry founder Richard Leadbetter, Tom’s Guide editor-in-chief Mark Spoonauer, former Rock Paper Shotgun editor-in-chief Katharine Castle, and former IGN news director Kat Bailey. The descriptions for some experts contain inaccuracies, such as outdated job titles, which could have been accurately updated had Superhuman asked those people for permission to reference their work.
