Trump‘s tariffs will hit his voters the hardest.

Show Up For Our Libraries! By eliminating the only federal agency dedicated to funding library services, the Trump administration's Executive Order is cutting off at the knees the most beloved and trusted of American institutions and the staff and services they offer. ALA American Library Association. #ForOurLibraries
🚨NEW🚨: Donald Trump is attempting to strip away federal support for libraries. We will NOT let that happen.
Last night the President signed an order to gut the Institute of Museum & Library Services. But together, we know we can show up & defeat it.

We released a special short episode today to celebrate Derek Craven Day! If it leaves you wanting more, we've got four more episodes that range from (relatively) serious to (extremely) silly. You can find them and all sorts of DCD stuff at fatedmates.net/dcd.
The coffee jokes are funny admittedly and there really isn’t much we can do aside from brace for impact, but a lot of medication and health equipment is made outside the US. We import a LOT of very common drugs. Things like band-aids are made outside the US. We are in very, very real danger here.
I’m so sorry for your loss.
Love all of Kate’s books. Can’t wait for this one.
Of the SciShow postcard promo I’ve done…here are the most effective:
Vlogbrothers>Hankschannel>Bluesky>SciShow>Threads>Twitter.
Bluesky, if you want to move up the list, and help quality, popular science videos reach more people who need them, it’s not too late!

We have an e-learning day due to cold weather, so I’m starting with coffee and poetry. Mary Oliver never disappoints.
the "there, my initial thought" is a telltale elon musk-ism
We are not obsessed, we are grieving. If you care about science, you should care about the TikTok ban.
Not only this ⬇️ (and read the rest of the thread, Sarah nails it), but I saw science being made more diverse bc of the supportive communities on TikTok
If you are new here, @debbieohi.com is a must follow. Think of her as the welcome committee with resources galore to light the way.
Text reads BookTok in bold black letters. Illustration of a blue butterfly hovers above the text. Below the main text is a link to a resource page on Debbie's Unofficial Guide To Bluesky.
I've updated the new "For those coming from BookTok" resource in my Unofficial Guide To Bluesky. Includes links to community threads where #BookSky and #BookTok users can contribute tips and resources:

Me too. I’d been holding out hope.
Waving a welcome as well. Also a #romance writer (small town contemporary), reader, and huge into #kidlit since I teach seventh grade.
Loretta Chase's LORD OF SCOUNDRELS is 30 years old this year, so it's a great time to revisit our deep dive. If you've never read it, it's currently priced at $2 at Kobo, Apple, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon. It's also available Bookshoporg and Librofm.

Hand-curated by yours truly, criteria unapologetically subjective.
My holiday novella, Follow Your Dreams, is one of those books. Happy reading! a.co/d/6g8eFOM

Day 21: 31 Days, 31 Lists - 2024 Science Fiction Books for Kids. Today, I celebrate what little science fiction there is. The bulk of it this year seemed to come in the form of picture books. What do we make of that? Not sure, but it's kinda cool. #kidlit 📚👍 afuse8production.slj.com/2024/12/21/3...
Cheering you on. It took years for me to start putting myself first.
And that gets the majority of my work done. I don’t have a ton of emails at home. If I got one and I feel like it could wait until school, I do. It has been a gradual process, but I finally feel like this is sustainable for me.
Sorry. Just hopped on here and saw this. This is my 29th year in teaching. I’m blessed to teach three 82 minute ELA classes and have two prep periods a day. I work all prep period to grade and plan. I do that before and after school during contract time. 1/2
Thou shalt not allow polio to come back you stupid fucks.
Love this. I don’t prep on the weekends either, or honestly do much - if any - work outside of my hours. It was leading to burn out and not sustainable. Much happier as a result.
