i had two years of journalism class at my (crummy) pgh-area high school. it was EVERYTHING to me. it featured the best, most dedicated/caring teacher i’d ever learned from. i learned and wrote a ton. feel massively fortunate to have had that experience. but for that, no way i make a living writing.

couldn't agree more! every time our daughter has tried to do the "skip intro" option on shows I'm ALWAYS like, "you know ... a bunch of people worked really, really hard on that opening sequence. like it took hundreds of hours. we should honor that work." and it WORKS!!! she's the one saying it now.
