it's funny there's a bunch of people who think the biggest problem in video games is something like "woke devs" or "GAAS slop" when really it's "the only people who play them are all going to start dying real soon"

Anyways I appreciate the kind words, I've always remembered your efforts a few years back w/ Seattle Gameworks fondly.

myself and others had to fight continually for it because there were some who didn't share our opinion that a serif typeface actually feels more futuristic in 2026 then the most abstract "tech" font, but I'm super happy we were able to hold the line.

...which looks cool to them in the same way Japanese looks cool to english-speakers, but then it gets exported to us, and becomes cool in different way, like it was returned to us, but changed for the better. Hard to describe, but that's what we were trying to capture.

Thanks! Blade Runner titles/Evangelion/Armored Core For Answer inspirations driving that choice. There's always been something so cool to me about Japanese designers using english in their work and their kanji fonts defaulting to something like Times New Roman.

Some of you would blow your brains out if ever realized how close your gaming hot takes are to those of the biggest chuds on x, the everything app.

surely it's no coincidence that so many aging millennials BIG IDEA for saving the games industry is essentially "go back to 2010"

At the height of the cinematic sad dad game craze in the late 10s/early 20s not a soul was thinking about how that kind of content becoming popular was a huge red flag for the future prospects of the traditional console games biz.

the last time he talked about this was to explain that when he was pumping the metaverse all those years what he REALLY meant was roblox and fortnite.

i see this year's big scary powerpoint deck has dropped so it's a good time to remind everyone that the author was considered to be "one of the leading minds of the metaverse" from 2020-2024.

crypto bros experiencing a real monkey's paw moment because while it turns out Bitcoin was very ahead of it's time as a degenerate speculative financial instrument, between options trading, sports betting, 24/7 prediction markets, etc. it's now the most boring game in the casino it helped build

this is a guy in 2016 taking the same turn on angeles crest highway, almost 90 degrees coming out of the tunnel. by the time you can actually see the road again it's too late to figure out that you can't take this at more than 60mph.
