There’s been at least one Merlin around pretty consistently for the last 5(?) years or so. Definitely a good place for a Merlin to take a rest.

Last summer I had a Pileated jump up directly in from of my from the side of the trail like a grouse or pheasant while mountain biking at Cuyuna. Life flashed in front of my eyes like I was about to be the first victim in a new Jurassic Park movie.
