I was at Sakuracon this weekend and missed having you there to run great panels!

Such a good episode! As a fan of Critical Role I am already a little biased in how much I enjoyed it, but I think the chemistry here was through the roof, love to see the panel sharing so many laughs!
Alan Moore knows the score
A movie like few others to show how the power of imagination and wonder can help fight the oppression of a fascist... what a wonderful movie for our times rn! I will ALWAYS love Pan's Labyrinth. Thank you for making it. 🫶
He's out here thinking an IQ test is pass/fail... being an American is so fucking embarrassing with this guy in charge, jfc.
I LOVE GdT for his movies, his art... but the quotes I see from him every day may have come to impress me even more. Great art flowing out from a great heart.
Oh damn, totally understand and it makes sense. Why walk in to a shit storm if you don't have to. Bitter disappointment though. You'll be missed! (And now I need to weigh getting across the border myself)
@roadbuster84.bsky.social Hi! Quick question, are you presenting any panels at Sakuracon this year? Me and my friends make a point to get to any of your panels we can, but all the scheduling info this year is ass and we can't see who is presenting what, etc.
I had high expectations going in, and honestly it surpassed them! The scene when Sam first performs... I couldn't help thinking about how movies really ARE magic. Incredible, I'll be seeing it again and recommending it loudly!

For anyone that's interested, Coogler's SINNERS fucking rules. What an incredible time at the movies, I will be seeing it again.
Four frames from the movie Glass Onion. “It’s so dumb.”it’s so dumb it’s brilliant!” “No! It’s just dumb!”
Every day I wake up to the news
This works and is true; I do this by (accurately) listing my bonafides as a middle-aged dad and former CEO small business owner/job-creator who wants universal healthcare, a livable minimum wage, a commitment to 100% renewables, gutting violent policing orgs’ budgets, and a union in every pot.
I'm a LIFE LONG Dem, even participated in caucus events etc. The stretch towards the center is far more offputting to me than defense of true progressive values. Human rights in its fullness, trans rights, reproductive freedom, equity for minorities, is what has always mattered.
Wisconsin State Code §12.11 makes it a crime to offer “anything of value” greater than $1 to induce anyone to vote or refrain from voting. docs.legis.wisconsin.gov/statutes/sta...
This isn't anti-DEI - it's retelling history as a story with only white men in it. The tale of the Navajo Code Talkers is essential to understanding the Allies' victory in WWII. Removing it because the people involved were non-white is segregationism.
I think any time an admistrator or official that wants to remove this sign is in public, they need to answer the question "what is the opinion that isn't being allowed"? Make them express it explicitly. Make them say the words. "We are protecting the opinion 'not everyone is welcome'." Bigots.
NEW: A searing editorial in the The Kyiv Independent.
“It’s time to say it plainly. America’s leadership has switched sides in the war. The American people have not, and they should speak up.
“A president just disrespected America in the Oval Office. It wasn’t Zelensky.”

The attack on DEI shows why liberals should stop arguing about "strategic" use of language forever. DEI stands for three uncontroversial virtues that most every American accepts, and the right still turned it into a vile slur. It doesn't matter what you say - they will poison it because YOU said it.

Holy shit. The "overbearing and nosy micromanagement" shittiness of it made me not even consider that it could simply be Russian info mining. In the laziest way possible, but hey.
Oh man, it's on my wishlist but I just picked up a little indie called Vampire Survivors that was on sale for 3 bucks, and it being so good and so cheap makes me loath to drop 70 bucks for a triple A. I know i will though.
Side note, just rewatched Smartypants and your ep was very good. 😁
Billionaires is a noun in both phrases, but space being a verb in phrase two is in contrast to space being an adjective in phrase one. I'm so sorry I'm like this.
Sidenote, but i met you at your booth at Sakuracon last year and you seemed very nice, and this has further confirmed it! The prints I bought were worth every penny for the artistry, but also great to support good business practice with patronage. 🫶
Bingo!
Seattle folks: there is a massive fundraiser this weekend supporting immigrant rights nonprofits. Lots of local restaurants and businesses are donating a portion of their profits. Eat good food, help a good cause: bit.ly/m/seattlefun...
This put knots in my stomach. Because I realized, their job is REALLY just to get reelected no matter what, and that trying to become do nothing social media celebrities probably IS a better way to get reelected than actually passing legislation. Massive endorsements is best.
It would be nice to see mainstream media acknowledge that every alarmist in their ranks about Trump and his henchmen has been correct, and every single "Let's all calm down" guy--a posture of blasé detachment that is consistently over-rewarded in legacy media--has called it wrong from day one.
If you told me that the sole purpose of this administration was to cause the country to collapse I would be on board with that explanation and have no evidence to offer to the contrary
