line chart of Cuyahoga County's estimated population between 2020 and 2025
Cuyahoga County's population declined to an estimated 1,232,925 people in 2025. While the 2024 population estimates released last year showed population growth between 2023 and 2024, those figures have been revised downwards in the latest release and no longer show an increase.
The U.S. Census Bureau published 2025 population estimates for counties and metropolitan areas today. Many counties saw their growth slow or reverse direction in 2025. The Census Bureau says the "shifts were largely due to lower levels of net international migration, which declined nationwide."
